NPC Raiders

I know this is a big one mainly for those of us who play solo or with few friends. But it would be nice to have some npc raiders from time to time. With optionial setting for the server.

LiF YO is not the final game, i'm not sure the final game is for playing with few friends... it's a MMO project with a almost 50 time bigger map than YO...

I know the no npcs is a big selling point but the game needs something to add excitement. Maybe in the MMO with more people (if alot play) there might be more combat. Right now combat oriented players have nothing to do. Animals are no challenge even the bears and definitely nothing for a group to do. Pops are so low on most servers aside from griefing (which most ban for) there is no pvp.

I would suggest some static larger bandit camps with some boss type leaders in them. Then some random spawning smaller camps throughout the world. I would suggest that these npcs drop nothing other than basic resources and junk gear. Otherwise you take away from the selling point that players make all the best stuff. Players need something to have fun doing as a group and taking down a npc camp could be one of them.

I loved how SWG would spawn a stormtrooper/rebel column near your city. It would almost be like you were getting invaded. It would provide a few minutes of fun for the group to go wipe them out. In UO we would spend hours learning how to coordinate our pvp group by taking on the old orc fort near Cove. NPCs can be fun and provide an outlet for combat players.

I've heard there will be natives that are going to be added.

I like the Idea of NPC's in general for both the player to create as enemy's for the player's server,
it might not be a big selling point for the mmo crowd, but it IS a big selling point for solo players/small group players.
Why appeal to just 1 crowd if you could make the game appeal to both crowds?

Everything that can make the game less monotonous is good. Even if I think that caravans attacks should be made by players (but for this trading should have more interest) I consider that at least server's host should have the possibility to create permanent NPC to set scenarios. +1

Very true, the game really gets draggy and needs more excitement. A good example is the game Ark Survival, you can't help but deal with the environment, dinosaurs destroy your buildings, kill you etc. This game needs more of that, animals that roam and attack (not just attack until you shoot it once then stand their to get finished off), an NPC bandit/native

So I just noticed in my event log "raiders have landed", that's interesting and all, but eh, how do I defend myself from them? Would be nice if there was some way to defend against them if they're gonna attack.

Maybe give the peasants some basic combat training? Or a milita barracks? archers in the watchtowers? any way to fight back would be nice, cause it'd suck if they just started looting and killing and I'm unable to do anything about it.
