I dont understand why they decided to have scalemail in this game. Its useless compared to chainmail and padded and it was not a very common.

Ever heard about east history ?

Often confused with "scalemail".
While it is actually lamellar.

And it wasnt only a "eastern" armor.

The Norse were quite fond of it, because it could be made out of leather, bone, or metal plates.

What a lamellar is made of ? Scale, so scale armor
