Class specialization

Post by Camil199197 » 15 Feb 2017, 13:13

I would like to see with the new class system deeper mechanics.

My suggest would be to increase the whole class tree by investet points.
The more points you invest in a class tree, the more should the class type get a buff.

As an example:

Assaulter -> Vanguard > Berserk

60 Points in Assaulter and Vanguard.
For every 10 investet points to the class trees you should get (as an example) 1% damage buff with the weapons that are in that tree.
So should Assaulter and Vanguard tree get a 12% damage buff now. (120 Points investet)

90 Points in Assaulter, Vanguard and Berserk
should increase class weapons by 27%, because there are 270 Points investet.

My idea behind this concept is to make the Meta class deeper and better. Someone that invest in only one class tree should get overall buffs than someone that plays a hybrid class.

specialist class should always be better than a hybrid class.

I am kind of confused because on a certain level doesn't what you are suggesting exist already?

the more skill points you have in a skill = the higher effective quality of an item you can use. (Effective meaning if a player with 20 points in bow skill and uses a 100 quality bow, that player stops getting benefits past the 20 quality)

sense Quality is part of the damage calculation, and damage reduction for armor this is already in the game to my understanding.

Also if you truly hybrid, you would lose out on tier 3 armor, that is a pretty big reason to not hybrid right there.

So there are some reasons already in place to not hybrid, why put more reasons in, because the more you incentive players to play a specific way, the more often you are going to see cookie cutter builds.

"not to mention they are saying armor is going to provide an addition small bonus to damage to the meta skill tree it belongs to"

You know you wouldn't wear tier 3 armor, don't you? :)

That fits in nicely with my thoughts on adding more bonuses around having a skill of 90 rather than just hitting the minimum of 60 for the next skill.
