Looks interesting, but i think sadly nothing for me.

Of course I wish the Bitbox team all the best with this new project :)

Made by Bitbox according to the Site.
On Steam created by Bobik.

So it's safe to assume it's not a player mod:)

Are bit box devs working on this, or does it just share the LiF name?

Is this the "roguelike" Bobik referred to a whIle back, or is that a different project?

Nothin official from them yet, i just dug this up with Vince during a funny arousing steam chat we had, but anyhow, yes its bitbox but idk how many r on it or anything i doubt they moved any manpower from the MMO so lets just be clear on that :)
And i doubt its the rogue like game since its genre is medieval simulator or something like that :)

It looks like a direct copy of banished with only minor differences. I'm ashamed to say it, but it does seem like a money grab lol - Nothing wrong with that if people prefer the aesthetic and buy into the "improved environments."

Not for me though.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Banished and I've played other city builders a great deal - But there will have to be other interesting features to get my interest.

Otherwise I'd wait for:
https://www.clockworkempires.com
or one of the other countless resource/city management games with more expansive gameplay to develop along.

I thought the same thing when I saw it, banished in lifs world,
I hope it will have something outside of that whole "box" but i guess its quite early to rule it out.

Developed by Mindillusion
Published by Bitbox Ltd.
That means another person made it but the publishing company is Bitbox so actualy bitbox's team is still working hard on the MMO so don't worry that pritty little head of yours.

Yup, we are just publishers. We are not making that game and MMO development speed have not been slowed down. No worries. ;)

Very neat!

I like the promise of LUA scripting for mods. The .cs scripting in LiF seems pretty inaccessible, with only Custodian "publishing" any significant scripts.

I think Forest Village might be a more viable concept than LiF MMO. (Which is entirely dependent on an insanely difficult balance between crafting and PvP player types.) There's a lot of opportunity there for gameplay by starting with the LiF engine and assets.

Comparisons to other games are pretty premature. Not everything can be Dwarf Fortress.

It'll be fun to watch it develop! Starting with disasters and animals, (i.e. things there are aready assets for in LiF) it'll be interesting to see what other kinds of challenges the game can eventually involve.

The developers drew the comparison themselves to Banished on the website and only truly mentioned improved environments as a major distinguishing gameplay feature.

And ability to possess villagers and walk around and do stuff in a first person mode.
And terraforming.
And many features like vitamins, all types of diseases, happiness management etc.

First read all the info and realise that this game is made by a different company entirely...

Yeah I would also say this just looks like a LIF skin of Banished with terraforming.

Sim City (and I believe Cities Skyline) allows you to go into 1st person mode and control individual citizens or even like a police car, and I'll tell you how much I ever use it...once then I forget about it.

Good luck with it though, but ultimately I feel like they are going to have to give it something that Banished lacks...which is hard because I can't think of any major gameplay element Banished lacks with CC mod. Maybe making more modular and individually customizable buildings might be the way to go.

I think the "original" features that promised in this game are a bit of a gimmick. IMO. Why would I want to get in 1st person view if The whole idea of a god like game is to be distanced from the action and let the little people do the hard work. Also if I wanted the 1st person action I would just play LIF. Right? I do like the natural disaster QuickTime events!

Now, I like Bannished very much, but there was a point where there was no further reason to conitue playing because the content was limited.
Also the end meta-game is non-existent. Though I enjoyed the process of the gameplay I felt that something was lacking.

So if this game provided some new meta-game content I would be happy to pay and play it. Perhaps a suggestion for some role-play element where you have to metigate some local disputes between the plebs and lords could be a fun thing(building a castle when the requirements are met, hosting a feast, inviting the neighbouring King/  cheiftan).

My two cents.

Good luck with the further development! :Bravo:

What is this actually? Who owns the rights in this game ? Can we all play? Or do we need to purchase again? We were promissed a mmo version that is why we bought it. I would not pay this much if ı was not going to be able to play in mmo version.

Is there any way to get in on this early? Either by further backing or otherwise? I assume the original backing of the MMO does not mean anything here right? Either way, do you have an approximate timeline for it? :D

I am a huge fan of games likes Banished and similar so would definitely play this :) Also good way to get more funding into the company and (hopefully) eventually contributing to the support and development of the MMO :D
