Lost access to my old forum account?

I logged into the forum with my steam like normal. I was greated with "verify my email" so i entered an email I have access too and confirmed it. I log in to the forums and it appears I have been created a new account? Has anyone else ran into this issue? I have private messages I was logging in to check and my inbox/outbox/sent is empty. I also have no post history.
