no mouse cursor in fullscreen mode

jsut got everything downloaded and went to log in, was checking out the settings menu and flipped it over to fullscreen mode, and the cursor was not showing up onscreen... it was clearly there because if I was lucky enough to happen to have the cursor hover over an option it would indicate that the cursor was over it. and the game is very very laggy for me in windowed mode. is there anything I can do to fix this?
