Mythology variants

Post by Saar » 23 May 2017, 10:20

Hi,
My first question after the lore's reveal is about the others cultures.

The mythology seems clearly based on nordic mythology. Seems logical for Slavards but what's about others cultures?
Have you planned to add some majors variance between races?

Add some specifics gos known only by Gottlungs for example, some storys told only by Khoors and inspired by alternat cutlures (the monkey king -for example-, etc...)

Hi Saar.

That's quite ambigious for me. The lore mostly represents not archetypes but a nordic "taste"/"feel", so it is based and not based on a nordic mythology at the same time.

The world of LiF is dark and insane and this is a kind of setting that nordic myths fit the most.

Yes, we do :).

I also remind that we are focused on a community-driven lore and storytelling and all player-written lore and other pieces of a whole story are always welcome. I can't guarantee we'll accept and use it but we definitely will take it into account.

Thanks.

Will the Lore become a integral part of the game?
In particular,
- Will it be restricted to random events and/or seasonal events?

- Will it be affect the design of weapons and buildings?

- Will it be reflect in skills' and titles' names (ex: Cardinal/Pope)

- Will there be ingame legends books and writable ones?

- Any ETA? I know it isnt a priority atm but I suppose it won't take months to implement books for example.

I would really like the option of creating our own lore in the game (which of course is entirely possible through RP) and be able to share it within the game in some manner other than just 'preaching' in local. One option would be allowing players to add text to books, which was suggested before in the voting page area.

Hi again, Saar.

- Will it be restricted to random events and/or seasonal events?

I can't tell for sure for now. But there is a huge chance for "yes".

- Will it be affect the design of weapons and buildings?

- Will it be reflect in skills' and titles' names (ex: Cardinal/Pope)

Of course.

- Will there be ingame legends books and writable ones?

This feature is announced, so yes. Same for ETA.
