Old castle walls

First of all, the new castle walls looks great!
suggestion, instead of replacing the old with new design keep them both. One thing that the game could use is variety of buildings.
Different stats, requirements and durability of course.
same goes for all the other additions, well, coops and so on.

if of course, server allows it.

So what's the point to waste ressources and time to build hold castle walls with less durability ? it's useless

For the hold one they will need 3D and texturing rework, why spend more time for that when you have created better new walls.

Even if later in development there is differents walls added, i'm not sure players will destroy their wall to rebuild differents walls just for the good look.

Walls could also require diffrent materials to construct.
if so, avelability of regional materials would influance your choice as well.

These new walls are actually terrible, looks like Lego or something out of Conan Exiles fantasy game. The old ones, and the Keeps were accurate they existed and still exist today. There are hundreds of pictures as well as historical records of how they looked shortly after construction, yet they choose to conjure up these walls that when built, look like they were dropped in from Conan, entirely out of place with the rest of the realistic buildings and surroundings. They should definitely have walls and keeps from different cultures, races should have their own Historically ACCURATE buildings or choose to build others if they like. These new walls have never existed in any culture, this realistic medieval simulator as the developers themselves have advertised needs to stay that way. Even from a fantasy perspective these walls are just terrible and look bad, those arrow slats can accommodate boulders. Just have a good look at the gatehouse. They just needed to add the new features into the old structures, and do a bit of research to live up to that realism that they promised, and add more styles of historically accurate structures. Or they could just add dragons and magic and replace their player base with fanatical Skyrim and Conan players.

The dark side is strong in this one. Give the developers a break, they are doing a great job making all of this happen.

Kay's idea is great, I like it. Making the old castle walls require architecture level 0-30 and the new ones require 60-90 for example. And different amount of materials for each. That way more people will be happier, because they get to choose which one they want, or use both.

I agree, now if only we got someone representing the devs monitoring these posts, relaying them to devs when they have time and then coming back with an answer, that'd be great :/

That's fine, I can agree with that. As long as the ugly new walls that look like they were built by glorified fantasy cavemen, are the ones with the garbage durability, nothing against idjits, but they can build them if they like... to get their asses raided easily. The other realistic looking medieval walls must be the strong ones. The ones built today with little slime on them, not the ones that look like they were built out of oasis sponge when Jesus perhaps was born.

Did you ever try to fight from the old walls? It was pretty bad, that is why they redid them so that you could fight from them.
Instead of crying learn to terraform to deter raiders.
