Greetings Reader, ---Before you read about Danovia, we encourage recruits to consider the following.. What kind of player are you, and what kind of organization would improve your gaming experience? We aim to provide a product that enables quality content to as diverse a player base as possible, from casual to hardcore gamers. The question you have to answer is, what are you looking for?
::Who We Are::------Danovia is a Romanesque based civilization built on meritocratic principles. Our Motto is "Unity and Order". Our Patron Saint is the Dragon Luukos, the deity of knowledge. Role-play is not required but we are role-play friendly. We are interested in all spheres of content from PVP to PVE. We are a Republic with a Peacekeeper storyline. Thusly, we do not believe in offensive wars, however threats to civilization will likely justify military intervention to subdue or purify these instabilities.

::Our Goals::---Our main goal is to create a Civilization that pioneers end game content while being welcoming to casual and hardcore players alike. Danovia's a fictional society, where players are able to influence the direction of the nation from it's bureaucracy to the battlefield. We take the quality of our product seriously, and value our players time and effort. Our structure enables the already amazing potential of Life is Feudal to bridge the player/development gap, all to improve our member's gaming experience.
::What We Offer::Roleplay Roleplay is a fantastic way to bring meaning to mechanics. Thusly, we are role-play friendly, though it isn't required for membership. This includes roleplay events, the eventual creation of a RP/PVP military unit, and functional positions within our society for role-players like diplomats and priests.

::Our Storyline currently::
Once Nomadic cultists, the Danovians settled land at the guidance of their patron deity, Luukos. Luukos is believed to be the Deity of Knowledge, who was forgotten by the inhabitants of Abella causing the great darkness. This turning from the light of knowledge was what slowly infected the land with ignorance, becoming a leprosy to the memories and skills of man.
It is commonly accepted among Danovians that after their cultist roots, they eventually became assimilated into a much larger empire that brought justice to all of Abella. This likely explains Danovia’s flavor of culture and nationalism, which is summarized by the motto “Unity and Order”. It is unknown what happened to that great empire, or if it ever existed, but to Danovia the memory is too real to ignore.
Regardless of the past, the future is known. Svefnii, the Sleeping God, will awaken and cause the inevitable Godmassacre. The world of people, Sparksvaard, will be striped of mortal life and with it humans will cease to exist. We contest if this can be prevented, but most Danovians believe it can be delayed. That for Abella, delaying the end of the world depends on balancing the ambitions of mortals.

Player vs Player As Peacekeepers, Danovia lives under no disillusion. Militarism is extremely important to us, authority often translating into stability and prosperity. Our Military has many influences throughout the course of history, yet a strong roman context. We value discipline and teamwork that clearly shows a mastery of game mechanics.
All Citizens are trained Legionnaires both mentored and commanded by Commissioned Officers. Yet each Legionnaire is ranked among three separate castes of service. These castes enable our membership to have has much or as little PvP exposure as possible. Blanket expectations are covered in "Terms of Honorable Service" and are enlistment requirements.

Legate Maximus
The Supreme Commander of the Military, a Legate Maximus is only answerable to the Senate. As the lead Commander, the position is primarily responsible for overseeing the efficiency and lethality of our Armed Forces. In practice this means identifying and solving major military hurdles often by distributing personnel and resources.
Centurion Maximus
An aide of the Legate Maximus. It is possible for multiple Centurion Maximus's to be selected and given a wide variety of powers directly delegated from the Legate Maximus. In practice the Centurion Maximus is generally a Centurion identified as having the potential to become a Legate, put into a position that outranks Legates, as a test of their ability. Their job is to set the Legate Maximus up for success and in reflection prove themselves as able Legates. They act in the name of the Legate Maximus, within the scope of clearly defined limitations.
Legate
A General of the Danovian Military, Legates often have a wide scope of responsibilities to include properly prioritizing and delegating the solving of military hurdles within their sphere of influence. A successful Legate properly identifies local issues and offers efficient solutions to the Legate Maximus while maintaining regional stability within the limits of their post.
Centurion
This position can have a wide scope of responsibilities depending on their commission. Responsibilities often include being an aide for a Legate and managing a local military garrison. A successful Centurion sets his local Legate up for success and maintains law and order within the limits of their post.
Tribune
A minor military officer that has a wide scope of responsibilities depending on their commission. These responsibilities often include being an aide for a Centurion and managing the local militia. A successful Tribune sets his local Centurion up for success and maintains law and order within the limits of their post.
About CastesDanovia has three broad castes of military service. These castes are the Hastati, Principes, and Triarii. Each caste being an opportunity for different levels of pvp commitment.

Hastati
These are Danovian Militia. It is the bare minimum PvP requirement for Danovian Citizens to be able to competently defend during sieges. Thusly, everyone must qualify as able Hastati. Hastati receive specialized and standardized training making every player a lethal asset during attacks on our great civilization.
Principes
These are Danovian Citizen Soldiery. For Citizens that are also crafters or are concerned about alignment, the Citizen Soldiery is a perfect place for you. Principes receive a wider degree of military training than the Hastati. Training focuses on Sieges, Instance Battles and Judgment Hours. Principes have priority reservation over Hastati for any battle or siege that has reached its attendance limitation.
Triarii
These are Danovian Professional Soldiery. For Citizens unconcerned with the possibility of death or negative karma, the Triarii offers the most advanced and widest degree of military training. They also have priority reservation to any battle or siege that has reached its attendance limitation.
Terms of Honorable ServiceTo be successful in the Danovian military there are expectations and standards that must be met. Our expectations may be a culture shock to players that have never played within a Mil-Sim Community. If you are interested in joining an organized team that constantly strives for varsity, and not some friendly fire zerg fest, these are Danovia's basic standards.

1. You will guard everything within the limits of your post and leave your post only when properly relieved. If you’re responsible for making something happen, make it happen. On rare occasions real life may interfere with your commitments, we understand that, but please let us know in advance if possible. If it becomes a habit then you’ll be moved to a less demanding position.
2. You will obey your special orders and perform all your duties in a military manner. You represent Danovia, and actions that you take will ripple across Danovian politics. Furthermore, all Danovians are expected to follow lawful orders provided by clearly listed Authorities. If a player get’s a reputation for being outside the mentality or narrative of our great Civilization, they will be moved to a less demanding station or banished based on the level of their infractions.
3. You will report violations of your special orders, emergencies, and anything not covered in your instructions to the commander of the relief. Every facet of our great society has a support system built to help with issues and concerns. Use it. If you don’t know how to, contact staff and they will point you in the proper direction.
4. Hastati are not required to own LIFYO, however it’s extremely helpful.
5. Principes and Triarii must own LIFYO. The training value is too great and we frankly can’t risk under trained service members handling mission critical tasks.
6. Principes and Triarii are standardized Castes. This means to maintain tactical relevance, there is a limited number of individualism and class roles available. Personal weapons and armor are welcomed, as long as it fits within the confines of the class and it’s combat build order.
7. For players that have an eccentric or highly individualized build or configuration, the Hastati will be the limits of Caste progression. That could change if additional classes or roles make the build cross transferable, but until then, they will not be applicable for the Principes or Triarii.
Player vs Environment Progress is defined by the ability to govern, logistic, trade and craft. It is the understanding that battles may be won by the swing of a sword, but history is decided on the backs of civilians. Danovia offers various paths of progression for members interested in this wide spectrum of content, and the benefits of being apart of a community that values each. If you're interested in politics, economics or tradecraft, we've got a place for you.

Politics All communities are defined by their relations and organization of membership. That because people don't always get along, and often have conflicting ambitions, politics separate the civilized from the archaic. Within Danovia, players with ambitions to influence the bureaucracy at home or with other civilizations, are able to climb the political ladder for their rightful station and prestige. If politics isn't really your thing, know that the leaders above you are motivated and qualified for their positions, able to be replaced if necessary.

GovernmentDanovia is a Meritocratic Republic. Thusly all members are citizens that earn their station based on ability not seniority. We have three branches of government: the Senate, the Executive and the Church. All three branches work together to balance powers and improve the quality of life for all Danovians.
Foreign AffairsAs Peacekeepers, we generally have a poor opinion of cultures or groups that attempt to destabilize any lawful civilization of Abella. This means that we do not believe in offensive wars, however threats to civilization could justify military intervention to subdue or purify these instabilities.
EconomicsIn a game as complex and logistically challenging as Life is Feudal, an organization may be able to ignore economics, but they cannot escape it. Danovia offers fiscal advancements that allow our membership to get a fair shake for their effort.

Guild Currency
Our guild currency is called Merit. Merit is a fictional currency (or trade medium) that rewards members for helping advance community goals. The purpose of merit is to allow members that contribute to the well being of the greater community, to have comforts that would be impossible for everyone to have. These comforts include contractual securities, access to production technology, additional housing and purchasing goods considered surplus.
We still use in-game currency both amongst ourselves and with other nations. Merit just protects our community from massive value adjustments and players that contribute very little, from taking more than their fair share. On the other hand, it rewards players that help out the team, while being a stable and standardized method of exchange.
TradecraftA capable and efficient workforce is the bedrock of all successful civilizations. Production being the difference between those that have, and those that don't. We understand this, and have programs invested to help players succeed at their crafting desires.

UnionsFor Craftsman, Danovia offers membership into trade programs called Unions. These trade programs provide new membership support channels to improve their craft and access to craft specific tasks. National Builder Association
A union dedicated to builder theory and creation. This includes those invested in Construction, Masonry, Building Repair and Architecture. Craftsman interested in learning basic, advanced or expert builder tasks hone their ability here. You will learn how to properly survey, blueprint and create builds that show a clear mastery of game mechanics. As your choices will affect teammates considerably, building within Danovia has extremely high expectations. For Builders able to achieve those standards, you can personally mold the infrastructure of our great Civilization.
Danovian Carpenters Association
Woodworkers are the sole membership of this Union. This includes Carpenters, Bow Crafters and Warfare Engineers. This is a fantastic profession path for casual players or Principes. The association teaches methods and theory to optimize efficiency and skill gain for those interested in membership.
Herders Labor Committee
Members invested in Animal Lore, Procuration, Warhorse Training and Tailoring are all applicable for membership within this Union. Herders interested in improving and optimizing their tradecraft hone their ability here. You will learn about feeding and breeding cycles, the overall value of animals and products, and become a member of a team advancing a critical time sensitive piece of Danovian economy.
National Farmers Alliance
Danovians that prefer Farming, Forestry, Brewing and Cooking are all members of this union. Here players learn about weather and season cycles, crop cycles, and the logistical considerations that this profession often faces. This is a fantastic union for players that want to continuously be a valuable member of the team.
Alchemists and Healer Consortium
If a Danovian has a knack for potions or healing, they’d be applicable for this Union. From learning the mechanics behind potions, preparations, or enabling your pursuit to be a Medic on the battlefield, this Union has everything for Alchemists and Healers alike.
National Mining Brotherhood
If you secretly wish to build an underground city and possibly reroll as a Dwarf, the National Mining Brotherhood needs you. This Union delves into the complex content that handles subterranean considerations. This includes Miners and Jewelers.
Job BoardsWe host an advanced task management system that allows our membership access to accept contracts based on their ability and location. This means that your valuable game time has clear direction should you wish to help achieve community goals. However, the Chapter has decided that as a meritocracy, players progress within Danovia by paying a pound of flesh. There's no requirement on how that flesh is paid, but members that sacrifice for the community are likely to obtain position and influence. That said, the QNA of the Chapter Application has 20 short answer questions. These are not required, you can skip them. However it is an opportunity for new members to show senior staff who they are, and improves your odds of being put into a position that suits your desires and character.
