Character Creation: voice selection

Post by Jgm_11 » 11 Feb 2018, 20:58

A few concerns and observations as far as on voice selection.

1. Hidden Voice Over Option

Unless the user opens up the "Gender Tab" during character creation they have no idea there's even a selection of various voice overs.

I intended on creating a male character and had no reason to open the "Gender" selection tab. I accidentally opened this tab only to find there are indeed voice over selections.

Suggestion: add an entirely new section for "Voice over" totally separate from Male/Female.

2. Voice over accents not period appropriate

The current voice over selection is very poor. The first and third selections sound downright comical and are both extremely out of place. One is American and the other is an overblown Spanish accent. Both sound totally out of place and are just downright terrible.

Suggestion: get 3 different authentic voice actors that have extremely heavy accents and that each fluently speak one the following dialects:

1. Gaelic
2. Icelandic(closer to old Norse than Norwegian, Swedish or Danish)
3. Slavic

It's seems rather odd put out an "old world" game only to short change voice acting by introducing lame, totally out of place, comical sounding American, flamboyant Spanish and/or proper British accents.

We wouldn't expect see the Union Jack or an American flag being painted on shields or flying above a keep or castle in Life is Feudal so why should we hear heavily accented American or British voice overs?
