The lighting cannot be correct this way

Since the big update where you changed NPC models (I think), something happened to the game's lighting and everything is completely overblown, making the game quite ugly and pretty much unplayable.

This is just bad :( It was very nice before that, but now half the textures look almost white.

Looks like too much bloom to me. Have you tried turning that off in the options?

Yes. In fact, I always turn bloom off completely.
This started happening with the update that introduced better villager models (which also made them look as wax figurines at the same time).

Still not tweaked even a little.
This is from latest patch with Bloom turned off.
These are no natural colours. Everythings is overblown and ugly, which is a damn shame, because the game could look beautiful. There's no reason for almost everything to have a distinct "overdone brightness" white tint to it.
