It doesn't seem possible to maintain a private monument early on

Post by MartialDoctor » 04 Apr 2018, 23:58

So, I've decided to really take the dive into the MMO.

I just put down my own claim and had a little over 20 copper from my selling of furs. I thought this would last me a week or so of claim, only to find that it wasn't even 2 days!

If selling a big fur to the crown only gets 10, or so, copper, how is one expected to keep a personal claim up for any amount of time? It doesn't seem feasible...

How big is your claim?

I have a 49 tile claim that with 1 gold will last me nearly 30 days.

And I have a 80 tile claim that 1 gold last me 2 weeks.

I sell hides, a LOT of hides to make the money to maintain those two claims.

Well I did, before I quit really playing. Now I just login every other day to clean my coop, and stable, slaughter a few animals and feed the ones I keep. Then log out.

It's only a small 3x3 claim.

You're talking about 1 gold. You only get 13 copper for selling a big hide to the crown; this is my whole point. Why isn't selling to the crown a viable option?

How much are you selling your hides for on the market?

Well, I have begun to trade with a nearby, friendly guild and have been able to make out substantially with my trades.

However, it still brings up the question as to why selling to the crown is so low. Obviously, it should be low to promote player trade, but I feel it is too low, at least for hides (and I'm assuming for other materials as well).

I feel that beginners should be able to sell to the crown while they learn the ropes and be able to sustain themselves during that time.

Big Hides, for example, should get 40 or 50 copper; more if the quality is good.
