1: Nationhood, Noble Houses, and Citizenship
Section One – Nationhood and Citizenship
Article I. The Republic of Glendor shall be a Homeland solely for the use and habitation of the Glendorian people, in order that Glendorian civilization may be preserved and Glendorian Faction members may work, build, and enjoy play in safety, prosperity and tranquility. We must secure the existence of our land and a future for Glendorian Faction members. Such is the overriding principle of this Constitution. Nothing incompatible with this prime directive may be held by any authority to be constitutional.
Article II. All Glendorians, of any creed, religion, or faith shall have the right to dwell in the homeland, which borders, shall be decided by the Republican Council.
Article III. Citizenship in the Republic, as opposed to legal residence and domicile, to include exercise of the franchise and participation in government and the political process, shall not be automatically conferred at birth, or through blood identity alone. Citizenship shall be earned through responsibility fulfilled.
Article IV. Residence and citizenship in the Republic shall be restricted, absolutely and for all time, to those persons of approved role play characters, who will provide a 5 generation genealogy of Glendorians behind their characters.
Article V. Outside of the Capital City, which lies under the jurisdiction of the Republican Council, noble houses, ranking of three ranks, lesser, middle, and greater shall be the owners of lands, and charged with the responsibility of government, protecting, and providing the citizens of their lands the basic rights of water, food, and safety. Any private lands owned by citizens inside of the noble`s lands, shall be protected by law, and only removable if said citizen is found disloyal to said noble house. All nobles houses, shall be office`s rewarded to the most loyal citizens of the Republic, having done memorable acts of courage, and or service to the Republic. A house will be considered lesser, middle, or greater by a standard set by law, and responsibilities and privileges of said ranks set by law as well. A noble house, onace made, may only be dissolved through (role played) war.
Article VI. Citizenship in the Republic and the right to exercise the electoral franchise shall be divided into three classes, with each class of citizenship holding one, two, and three votes respectively. Those who demonstrate superior civic and political responsibility, and who display the greatest dedication to state service, and who thereby achieve a higher class of citizenship, shall thereby have the greatest say in the political process. Lesser Houses shall have 4 votes, per noble. Middle Houses shall have 5 votes per noble, and Greater Houses shall 6 votes per noble.
Article VII. Citizenship in the Republic may be legally reduced or revoked by the Republican Council alone, all Great, Middle, and Lesser Houses may only carry the right to bar citizens of the Republic from membership of their respective establishments. Reduction, or revocation of Citizenship shall not warrant expulsion from the faction, unless treasonis. Reasons for Citizenship reduction, or revocation listed here.
-Treason against the Republic by aiding her declared enemies with information, food, comfort, weapons, supplies, and or any action increasing their ability to gain the upper hand.
-Treason against the Republic by wagging war on her freemen members, citizens, leaders, any of the noble houses pledged to the republic, and or, any of the Republic`s military assets.
-Failing to pay a fine to a noble, when convicted by his house, of a crime on said nobles`s lands.
-Failing to meet the call of battle by the Republican Council.
-Theft, or damaging of private property.
Article IX. Only those who, having purchased, or gained private lands from the Republican Council inside the borders of the Republic, shall be allowed the privilege of citizenship. As only those who have something to lose, may be trusted in the political process.
