The only surviving you do is in combat, animals are no real threat and if you're just looking to survive there's plenty of food all over. There's no real "survival" element to this game. I think you mean crafting maybe?

I'm a big fan of "Risen", "Gothic" series, and "Skyrim".... Character development and complexity of crafting/starting from nothing - is what got me to buy the game and love every minute of it.

Was really hoping the OP meant...

hunger/thirst/sleep/comfort/sickness

regarding survival vs. combat.

I enjoyed the hell out of a Skyrim mod that implemented said features and feel this game would benefit greatly by adding that kind of depth.

Obviously sleep would be somewhat difficult to implement considering few folks will actually want to watch a character sleep for any given amount of time.

On some server there is pvp, which sometimes work out and is fun to fight and die, sometimes you just chase a guy who should be wounded (low HP) but hits the escape key and goes off into the water, where the god of the sea guards him :(

Due to some crashes in the last patch, I started to play Chivalry again and I think they should try to get to that point. I don't know about M&B or the other games of that type, but from chivalry, there is nothing more rewarding to have a 1vs3 and going out victorious from that battle :D

Survival right now is.... not so surviving at all, I mean, get ONE apple tree with a decent quality and you are never starving.

not really. just make characters gain sleep when logged out (at an increased rate if you log out in bed)

Or maybe make sleeping ingame be not so much time consuming, for example going to sleep for 10 Minutes will totally be enough. Considering about stamina regeneration through sitting, this would be appropriate.

i like my idea better^^ its more realistic, and its a bit of an equalizer between hardcore and more casual players. sure, if you wanna play 24/7 you could power through the potential malus of being sleep deprived, but at reduced efficiency. kinda like "rested xp" in more traditional mmo's.

the 10 minute thing would work nicely for "comfort" though. like, if you sit down at a table for 10 minutes you gain a comfort buff. you could also do certain things like eating or carving wooden handles, mash herbs etc while sitting.
