Bags and bugs (0.2.9.5)

We have implemented a proper bags system that will allow you to sort your stuff in your inventory or inside your warehouses. For additional ease of sorting you can now name your bags.

Some additional bugfixes and optimizations and minor fixes are also included in this patch.

P.S. We have finished software design and started actual implementation of a guild system for LiF:YO - stay tuned ;)

Patch notes (ver. 0.2.9.5):
Backpack, bag, sack, pouch containers can now be crafted by tailors and can be renamed (while inside of your inventory) to ease sorting of items.
Fixed video settings dialogue and tweaked video settings to fix invisible trees and objects issues on some rare PC specs
Added new fortification modules for stone walls
Warehouses now have a proper doors that can be opened or closed
Reworked some fortifications models to minimize /stuck exploit chances
Made some rendering optimizations that should increase rendering performance slightly
Provided some crash fixes on a client side
Projectiles do not collide with water surface now and sink properly


Renaming containers, and doors on warehouses! \o/

So for the new wall fortifications, are these items which are attached to existing walls, or added during the crafting process for the wall?

For the guild system, will this be a smaller/parsed back version of the MMO mechanic (i.e. party/guilds, but no Kingdoms)?

The new fortifications appear to be inside versions of towers and such (pathway on one side rather than the other).

Also - has anyone been able to heal others since the update? I get nothing when making the attempt.

Can't say I like the "You cannot do anything with that object." message you get when trying to open one of the new containers that's inside a Warehouse.

I noticed that last night, is rather annoying when trying to organize things in the warehouse.

That said, love the look of the pouch and backpack (as well as the updated walls/tower graphics).

That's interesting. Falcion - on my server (which we wiped a couple weeks ago), healing is/was just starting to be learned.

It's difficult to do any action command on someone. You have to click the right spot to even scan the person.

I'm going to test healing here in a little while. In/out of group and in GM/normal mode and see if there is anything going on that I can find.
It does not matter who is the strongest fighter, just the last one standing.

Healing seems fine.

Just remember, it's only a small amount of Hard HP you heal at 0. Then when you get higher you are able to heal wounds on limbs, broken bones, and then finally at like 90 on chests (almost all damages from animals are on chest, center mast is where they aim, takes another person hitting your limbs to damage, wounds, or broken bones there which is 30 and 60).

Is Bandaging (not yet implemented) for Soft HP (your walk around health).

I did some testing and reported on the healing skill on the mantis.

In GM mode, I was able to heal and in normal mode I was unable to heal. Tested both in and out of group.

Tested on damage received by another player both in and out of group.

Strange thing was damage received at an earlier time was able to be healed.

I will test it shortly in group and out of group. In GM and normal mode for both.
Was able to heal in GM mode out of group, player received bed rest buff. The player had received damage shortly before froma boar.
Was unable to invite the player to a group in GM mode. Tested with both players in GM mode and with both players in normal mode. Restarted game client and I was able to invite to group.
After striking the torso of other player (wearing novice leather chest piece) with stone dagger was unable to heal player.
Tested again and after 10 strikes to a combination of chest, left arm, and right thigh (with crosshairs not being moved and neither player moving), so some hit box problems seem to be occurring or the character swaying side to side constantly changed where the blade struck the hit box and which hit box was struck.
Left group and was still unable to heal other player. Attacked 10 times out of group, receiving normal alignment reduction per first strike and criminal debuff, was still unable to heal player. Player did not have the bed rest buff any more.

Switched to GM mode and was able to heal player normally in group and out of group.
It does not matter who is the strongest fighter, just the last one standing.

Could it be that they have killed the last introduced performance boost? It was a dream, fluid gameplay, and now I am having lags in such a way, that it totally killed my joy in this game.

Thanks Orsus. I'll go update the defect with what we have been able to determine. It seems you can heal when not in GM mode, but it is a very small area you have to select when healing.

Almost like you can only heal the wound that was inflicted. This is a little too realistic for me. ;)

I put my target Center mass from about 1 tile distance and was able to select them easy enough. You can also click on the other player, in the group menu, if they are in the group with you and you are trying to heal them.
It does not matter who is the strongest fighter, just the last one standing.

My crew and I are still watching this game closely and checking the patch updates.

We are mostly just waiting for combat to take on a more realistic/less sprint-in-circles-swinging spam-fest quality.

Looking good though so far. Keep up the great work Devs!

Shield bash followed by several quick hits with an axe/mace/pick/cudgel will take care of anyone attacking in such a manner easily enough. Felt kinda bad hitting someone when they were laying on the ground like that, but it passed quickly enough. :evil:

So none of those selection options worked for me. In fact, I did not have the healing option when I went to the select the player from the group window. I did have some unit options.

When I did get a healing option selecting the player directly, no amount of positioning worked for me.

Healing seems broken in the latest patch. I hit someone many times and couldn't get the heal going at all... I can't level my healing this way... stuck at level 0
