The quality of your blacksmith shop must be really low. Did you use low quality material when building the shop?

The quality of the finished product can be adjusted by the quality of the materials used to craft the crafting building as well as the skill level and attributes of the layer that crafted the building at the time it was crafted. Same with the materials used to craft the item with. But it is mainly the building materials that will cause a loss in item quality when crafting a high quality item.
It does not matter who is the strongest fighter, just the last one standing.

You must build your BS shop with top Q materials.

Before I had a BS shop with normal materials, i had 90Q iron bars with ore of 95.

I re build my BS shop with top Q, and now it works better !

  • You need good quality materials while building the BS.
  • The BS hast du be build by a player with a high skill in masonary and with a good quality malet. (This is important and mostly overlooked)

Building a BS in GM mode without a malet, even with good materials within the construction yard, will reduce the output quality of your BS massivley.

I did a test a few weeks ago with the blacksmith shop and here are some of my findings.

If a GM quick builds your building for you then the building is a Q 1 building which will reduce your final outpot by quite a bit in most itmes from a BS shop.

When you use the Wiki to look up an item you want to build look on the Right side. It will list off what items it requires and what their influence is over the final product quality. You will also see that it lists the influence your BS hammer has over the final ouput quality. Your forge and anvil or BS shop is also listed with the influence over the final product quality. your skill also has an effect over the quality also.

So have a good look at the wiki for what you want to make and look at what influences its output quality and try to max each out for best items.

Is this the same for the other workstations like furnace, forge and bloomery?

I cant say for sure about smelting buildings (bloomery and the forge of the forge and anvil) but for smithing buildings it does have an effect( BS shop and the forge and anvil)

Im sure the Kitchen, carpenters shop and herb shop all have the same effect as the BS shop in terms of quality of materials that go into building the shop effect the quality of the shop in the end which has an effect on the output quality of the items made through the shop.

Drying racks, tanning tubs, looms thingslike that i dont know how the quality will effect the output quality as i have not tested those items
