Anyone is welcome to join us on our PW server as we develop our new generation of military doctrine and formation drills for Life is Feudal.

Are we going to white list?

Do we want to let people post here to be whitelisted if so, or have them sign up on our forums?

Forums. Working on a script to do a simple character creation system for the mod. I might flesh it out to reflect a small bio and make it all RPGish. Same system will be used for ARMA III mod as well.

NA. Mostly host our own because that community drives me nuts. I can't stand the taleworlds forum for that mod lol.

As we move forward I believe we should discuss a summit of some sort to ensure the free democracies of the world are kept that way with all these monarchs running around with delusions of grandeur!

The things we do to past time while we wait for a treasured game. I do hope we get to start seeing more of LiF here soon.

Imperial Rule has failed us time and again.

Bouts of sea-sickness have replaced any feelings of patriotic fervor I may have once had for our former country.

We'll be publishing our training/drill schedule and open it up to other guilds that want to participate with us. The main post for the thread will be revamped shortly with more info/shiny graphics.

Drill, Drill, Drill. All we ever do is drill. When do we get to Kill, Kill, Kill?

Yes sir, we are using Warband to build the core doctrine of the Republic.

We use the game to teach basic concepts like military structure and leadership as well gaming mechanics such as directional swing and blocking. We also use other games to solidify those core concepts and teach people how to adapt to different mechanics. Our goal is to get people to identify key elements and concepts that translate across different game styles. Warband affords us that foundation and then we jump into other games to show similarities and differences.

Warband is easier because it sets up an immersive environment and is the most similar as we understand it to LiF. We can also mod the PW server to fit our needs and begin in a controlled environment. From there we go into other people's servers and mods to apply the lessons and fire for effect.

I was answering both of the previous questions in a more longwinded manner than was necessary, lol.

TL;DR ... yes, we use warband and we kill, kill, kill as part of the drill, drill, drill :P

Good to hear, my clan uses warband as well to train, mainly because we are a native scrim clan though. We've played PW for years, and feel like Feudal will be more like a lawless version of PW most of the time, so I don't see formations playing much of a role in woodland skirmishes and the like. In sieges and organized battles this will be different of course.

I look forward to working with you guys in the future, maybe joint security should the necessity arise. I see no reason why the two civilized guilds in the game should be at odds over much.

I respect what I see from the Silver Run Republic, and hope that we can come to a mutual respect in an understanding that both our guilds will have different cultures that are distinct, but have much in common, cheers  .

Edit: We also use Wurm to train our news guys, get them to think like sandboxers. Most of our vets are also veterans of Dawntide, in which we ran the largest, and most prosperous guild in the game. So we're sandbox vets/freaks to say the least.

We are always open to diplomatic channels and looking for friends!

Our core is all current or former military so we attempt to marry game tactics with real world concepts. I agree wholeheartedly that it will be mostly skirmishes and raids so we tend to adopt loose 3-man teams called Barbute based around medieval Italian tactics. Funny how much history had already figured out PvP with group makeups resembling Tanks with Shields and DPS with Pikes/Great Weapons and ranged backing them up :D

We also have some high order operational and strategic elements in place like battle management and controllers built around maneuver warfare and active defense.

I have to give it up to the EVE Online guys because a lot of that community has pulled off some incredible operations, but I know SSR has that capability to bring some of that high order organization to Life is Feudal given the chance.

It would be great to develop some sort of NATO-esque alliance between Realms or even multiple Kingdoms given the opportunity and keep things interesting with lots of PvP and Sieges while protecting our crafters and more casual players encased in a deeper culture to generate something truly immersive. That's my vision anyways!

Archery is something I do in real life. So it would be hard to not do it in-game. However, I'm a pretty big critic when it comes to mechanics in game. There's no doubt in my mind I'll be throwing around arrows whenever I can.

Swing a sword around doesn't make you a man of honor; it makes you a dead one. Not much honor after you're dead, only memories of what you've done.
