The Defnition of Soon

Post by Willbonney » 04 Dec 2014, 03:00

Howdy Folks,

I've been getting more and more chatty on these forums of late now that I have a good amount of time playing and can make more informed opinions and suggestions, but there is always one question I like to ask a Development Team I have little knowledge of or no experience with.

That question is, "What is your definition of Soon?"

I ask this because though it's become an industry joke about how often Soon™ is used when giving a timeframe, it's a term that rarely has any sort of standard.

Is Soon™ within a week, a month, a year? What do you all think?

Well now, with this post from Bobik on Nov. 26th
P.S. Expect a major render optimization patch soon

And the patch happening Dec. 5th, 10 days isn't a bad definition of Soon at all.

soon should be a short time ahead. yet many people use it for a long long time, or maybe a time that doesn't exsist
