Is it normal for the sky to make everything else pitch black? When the sky is in frame, everything on the ground and my character is pitch black. When I look at the floor everything magically lights up. Its like the light from the sky drowns out everything and makes it all impossible to see, even in the day.

I encountered this issue as well. Try to reinstall the game and DirectX. It helped in my situation.
