Procedural buildings

Hi,

at the moment we have a very limited freedome how to create our castle, fortress or even simple buildings. To provide the players with the biggest possible freedome and save development ressources i suggest to let players create their buildings procedural.

Some examples how this could work.

If you want to build a tower, you would follow these steps:
1. Select a tower with a given footprint shape and size (Wood, square, 2m OR Stone, round, 5m)
2. Choose the place to build the tower (rotate place it)
3. Choose the height of the tower
4. Select the wall thickness
5. Place doors
6. Place interior stairs. Place/modify arrowslits/machicolations/battlements etc.

A normal house could be follow these steps:
1. Select building footprint and material
2. Place the building
3. Select height
4. Place/modify doors/windows/interior walls/stairs/etc.


A major improvement of this could be the ability to reconfigure (only to a certain degree) the buildings. For example modifying doors/windows and interior design or enhancing walls and towers with defensive upgrades like machicolations and wooden structures. Existing walls could be made thicker and taller.

a lot of diferent building data for the server to send to players when aproaching the building = server dead or player disconected :P

and lets not just talk of oportunity to abuse strange building designs
