The Serjeanty of Coilglean (Proposed)

Post by Roelen » 03 Feb 2016, 00:54

The Serjeanty of Coilglean is looking for members! We are planning on joining the Kingdom of Hyperion along with the Duchy of Wessex (if a representative of the kingdom is online, please contact me), however our RP will be focused on celtic/gaelic cultures more than English (however, note that this isn't a historical MMO and therefore everything will not be completely accurate).

Military:
The Coilglean military system will be seperated into many small groups called Scata. Each one, at maximum capacity will have 12 soldiers of the same class. 10 will be footmen, one will be an officer (Udar) and one will be assistant-officer (Cuiditheoir).

On the second tier of the system, we have the Dorn. This unit will be composed of 5 Scata (60 men total). It will be lead by a Tiarna.

These are the classes which each soldier will fall under:

Ceitherne - The basic footmen, wielding a one handed weapon and shield.

Ostmen - Lightly armored pikesmen, using any kind of pike or spear.

Bachlag - Archers and crossbowmen.

Levy - Peasants given tools, slings, and weapons and expected to protect their homeland!

Ridire - Mounted knights.

The army will focus on mobility and wear primarily light armor, save certain circumstances (knights and some officers).

The Church
Coilglean places more emphasis on the church than most other places. We welcome priests and monks, and will have a monastary and church constructed at our claim.

Selecting a King
Upon the former king's death or resignment, a council of high ranking lords and representatves from other shires and serjeanties will be called upon to elect a new leader from the other high ranking members of the settlement. (Note that the title King is relative to the kingdom Coilglean only, which will be swearing fealty to the larger kingdom of Hyperion. So yes, we will answer to the high king, this "kingship" only has rights and title according to the size of coilglean at that time.
