Sorry to perform some necromancy on this thread, but I too am wondering what it's for. Is is just to grind up your skill?

At the moment existence of Dough is a mystery. You may sometimes hear the little dough whispering "What am I? What is my purpose?".

On a serious note, in the future, food might be redesigned a bit, so either the mysterious dough will gain some function or it will be removed. Time will tell.
