After going into a bit of herbalism i have noticed negative effects preparations have no use, but do exist nontheless. I think it's kind of a waste. So i thought about ways to give them some uses. I've come up with a few ideas :
- make it possible to craft potions from preparations, just taking them as one ingredient instead of the 2-3 herbs. Say a herbalist is working with an alchemist. This way a pro herbalist can raise the quality of the pot the alchemist is about to make by making the highest possible quality preparation. It's also a time gain for the alchemist, who doesn't have to look into his plants. And of course it's also useful because different players have different recipes so the herbalist can make a given prep with different plants than the alchemist, that he can then use for a good pot.
- create gas grenades using preparations as poison to burn to produce poisoned smoke. I see something close to the naphta pot recipe, adding poison effect to it and dealing less regular damage. Also why not add regular smoke grenades, maybe with a few new plants good at making smoke to make an ingredient for a warfare master.
- make it possible for a cook to add negative effects preparations to some food, just like flavour, making the guy eating it poisoned just as if he smoked it. Of course it wouldn't be written on the food tooltip so that people can get trapped, or making it visible just for the food crafter's guild. Of course the same idea could be kept for poison pots on drinks or food.
