One of the things holding me back from buying is the lack of ability to toggle fog and falling precip effects and to set things for constant daylight. The primary reason is that I know from experience that I get headaches from that kind of animation and/or lack of contrast. The secondary reason is that they make play time unproductive - it takes much longer when you can't see what you're doing. Some folks may find this fun (so I don't recommend getting rid of them, just make them optional), but they seriously cut down on how much I can play and how long a game holds my interest.

0By the way, while I like the ideas in the feature request called Torches and Braziers, I would like the ability to disable night, especially if night isn't going to be brighter than it is today or torches don't get implemented. -
