It would be good to have a system implemented so that the when you declare war it costs a certain amount of coins to start the declaration and a weekly maintenance amount.
The system could use a new totem "War Totem" to manage war declarations or using the existing standings screen.
Wars cost money, having to spend money to start and maintain improves the balance and makes wars more justified. I would like to propose that a war declaration start at 1 gold coin to start and 1 gold coin per week RL to maintenance. If the fee isn't paid for the week, the war declaration will automatically drop.

0That is a very interesting and good idea. And in theory, not too difficult to implement I would hope.
Great suggestion, I hope they add that soon. Perhaps a cooldown timer as well, so that if a truce is made by nonpayment or expiration of a war, one cannot simply constantly start it up again without a brief period of peace... unless they wanted to further add to the alignment system and have a high negative alignment to killing outside of war or declaring war too soon after a peace?
But I vote yes! cost of war is a great idea -
