Due to actual "lock on terrain", could be an interesting idea to have an additional tool to set a free camera, to see everything what's going on, with your favorite field view. Also, this could be the way to make the best screenshots possible. Many times i was trying to make screens from inside buildings, balconies of my tavern, and so on, trying to find some beautiful spots. in this way it's a little bit difficult, and some angles are impossible.
