It would be nice to have a structure intended to store rough wood.
As the game is now, you have to either stuff your warehouse full of wood or drop sawn building log or billets on the ground and hope it doesn't expire. In real life, the solution to that problem is a log pile instead of trying to store it inside a building. While weather might warp boards (which you would probably want to keep in a warehouse), it won't do much to building logs or billets. It would make sense to be able to throw building logs and billets into a large-capacity pile without having to build an actual building.
A static log/wood pile model with a fixed amount of storage that only accepted logs or billets would do the trick. Maybe you need a high logging skill and a flattened area to set it up. It could even require some rope or a tarp (could be linen cloth bolts like the windmill) if that sounds too cheap.

2Yes, I agree with this suggestion.
If a server has decay turned on, it forces people to deforest without reason, or only when they can put the wood towards something immediately/need fuel.
Stacking cut wood is extremely handy as it gives the player something to do in down time, as well as allow them to actually store/sort wood for use many days later. -
