Building customization!!Upgrades!!

107
Each building can have upgrades.
These upgrades can go from regular cosmetic modifications to incresed rooms or some other bonuses.
Example - simple
Make a big stone house-
Upgrades - Kitchen/basement/storage area or any room for that matter - Big upgrades
Example - advanced- functional
Walls can have upgrades such as spikes since we wont be loggin on walls anymore soon it can prevent wall huging and looks cool.
Also gate houses can finaly have that "thing" thats on it that u can let loose to swing down and cut people-far fetched example.

Insted of building for example 2 barns-
You can add a "half barn" atleast at first to the one u allready have and u can fit it on either 3 sides(not allways)

Any of these upgrades will still require materials.

This idea would be great, some sort of modularity to it would be nice. For example, if the upgrade slots a building has are based on the size:

    Small Buildings - 1 Upgrade/Specialisation Slot
    Medium Buildings - 2 Upgrade/Specialisation Slots
    Large Buildings - 4 Upgrade/Specialisation Slots

Maybe the upgrades can be like capacity/balcony/defensive tower/iron alarm bell or various buffing aspects, but by restricting how many a building can have, but also allowing variation, people can have similar looking towns but buildings specced to different playstyles.

Eeeehehehrhergerhe I'm getting all excited just thinking about how much this game can advance with community suggestions now, this is awesome

that's a good idea, maybe even give a choice for different styles of buildings by choosing a different monument ? for example the sword monument would be like nordic buildings , and a torri gate for asian styled buildings and so on ...

i found in translation files something....

    Wood and plaster window
    Wood and plaster wall
    Wood and plaster door
    Adobe house window
    Adobe house door
    Adobe house wall
    Stone house window
    Stone house door
    Stone house wall
    Log window
    Log door
    Log wall

I believe this we'll be able to build our house per tile, doing whatever we want... then, no real needs in upgrading existing houses

I love this idea and I am on board for this change. I play a lot of games and the biggest thing for me is the ability to decorate my house and make it unique to me. I like how Skyrim did the houses in Hearthfire and would have to agree that a building should have expansions or slots for other things. I also think a house should be able to be built onto since most did this in the medieval era to accommodate multigenerational living. This would also help in making towns interesting to see. I love going through places just to see what people have done with the buildings and how they have expressed themselves in the game.

That will limit the entire guild basicly to be a cultural type it is discusable if people want to mix in a city or stay 1 theme based. Without the monument thing they can basicly be 1 theme based if the all agree to it without forcing it on anyone.

I absolutely love this idea as it adds more uniqueness to each village. The possibilities are endless with this. No two houses exactly alike and the ability to reflect the village's community and style as well as each individual who lives there.

Definitey a thumbs up. Great idea which gets me totally excited!

Here are a few examples of building upgrades:
Expansion rooms: Players can add new rooms to their existing structures, such as kitchens, basements, storage areas, or any other functional space that enhances the building's capabilities. These new rooms could serve specific purposes, such as crafting, storage, or providing bonuses to certain activities.
Defensive upgrades: Walls could have upgrade options like adding spikes, reinforcing materials, or defensive mechanisms to deter intruders or improve the building's defensive capabilities. These upgrades could serve both practical purposes, such as discouraging wall hugging or making it harder to breach, as well as aesthetic purposes to make the building visually impressive or intimidating.
