I, like I think many others. Think the LiF team should be putting as much resources into creating the combat and siege systems. I love this game, the only thing in my mind that I think is wrong with the game at the moment is these mechanics and systems. I think that the reason a lot of people I know have left

    Agree on the combat part, it needs a lot of work. This is very important to a lot of players and while the building and crafting in this game is the best i have seen to day the combat really isn't that good. And don't even start on ranged combat it just doenst feel smooth at all. THey should put a lot of work in this before the mmo launched or a lot of players will be turned off by this. IF they nail the combat and it will become more smoother as it is in games like mount and blade this game will become HUGE

    No offense but there's nothing original or "best" about the building or crafting in this game.... (pre-built building templates, rly?)
    imo wurm online still did it better (and they've been around for almost 10years), but there's many other aspects I dislike about wurm :p (including combat - but no improvement here on that part either hehe)

    I used to think that Life dev's team needed to improve and overhaul the combat but after the new dx11 update our guild has fought many hard battles and even seige another guild base and made them leave the server. Yes, I think that the combat needs polishing but the seige is spot on and is a lot of fun. A suggestion mabey, I practice a lot with my guild with practice weapon's and heavy plate mail and also train on training dummy's and I have seen my skill in combat go way up. Hopefully this will help you get a little more adjusted to combat.

    The siege mechanics are actually pretty good its just there's a lack of equipment like ladders and rams, etc.; and the fact that logs can still be stacked to jump walls is a bit of a turn off. I haven't messed around with archery lately, but the melee combat stamina drain is ridiculous, as well as the overall smoothness of battle. I will say hit boxes are better, but things like lancing are more work then they are worth. I do like that they are trying to do their own thing with combos and special attacks, but these seem fairly buggy at the moment as well. Some of the weapons could use some re balancing as well.
