As we all know, the world of eSports has exploded in recent years. In particular, you can now find competitions across several different games (Starcraft, Counter Strike, League of Legends, Dota 2 and so on). If you have any interest in competitive gaming and watching the best teams in the world compete, you should take a look at Warcraft III Arena.
One reason I like Warcraft III Arena is that it provides an opportunity to play competitively without having to be a hardcore gamer. For instance, if you are interested in being a captain for one of the top club teams or just want to watch some good fights — this is for you. The game also works very well for casual fans who want to see what all the fuss is about without having to invest too much time into either playing or watching games.
You can choose from three different classes (e.g., Support, Tank and Damage-Dealer) and choose a hero which suits your personal style (e.g., Shamans’ ability to “summon an army”). You can view matches at your leisure as well as start your own team and compete against other people of your own skill level. This may seem trivial on a first glance but as with most things in life it has much more depth than that…
The gameplay is enjoyable enough that I used Warcraft III Arena while studying physics during my final year at university (but I would be lying if I said that was not also due to me spending seven hours every evening over winter vacation playing Diablo II). It has become something of a regular feature on my daily schedule and I do enjoy watching my teammates fight each other with their skills honed through years of training. If you are thinking about investing in any kind of eSports organization or company then Warcraft III Arena is another excellent option — make sure you check out our guide on how to get started if you need help deciding which way to go!
