lets start with quality of items, first of all the fact that you can use 1Q copper ore to make 100Q metal weapons is a pretty big bullshit, not only it removes all the needs of searching for high quality materials for blacksmithing, it also removes a lot of fun and balance from game, cause for every single other crafting skill you need the high quality stuff, so you have to work hard and get it, while for blacksmithing u are fine even with 1Q copper.
2nd of all how come sword made out of 1Q copper has exactly same stats as sword made out of 100Q Vostaskus? how can that make any sense to anyone? and whats even the point of trying to get any rare or not so much rare materials when you can make everything out of copper?

for those who dont know, you can make stuff that requires "common ingots/bars" with copper, then resmelt it in bloomery and u get iron out of it. no matter what u use to make that stuff u always get iron back. since u use the blacksmith's shop it increases the quality of the item by 20 every time, so no matter what quality stuff you use every time you resmelt the items they increase in quality.

first of all that needs to be done is every item that can be crafted with different materials should have their own versions, like copper sword, iron sword, steel sword and so on. all of those should have their own stats, better if they also have something special about them, like lets say silver makes faster weapons, steel makes weapons that deal more damage, something of that sort, but ultimately the harder it is to get material the better should be the stats of the weapons or armor you make out of them.

best thing with materials would be if it was possible to make 1 item out of many different materials, with their bonuses and stats, for instance if iron sword has 100 damage and copper sword has 50 damage, half copper and half iron sword would have 75 damage (50 from iron and 25 from copper). so that way you could first of all make items out of what you have, but also make items with specific stats that you need.

also very good thing would be to change how the 90-100 skill bonuses work (chance to make weapon with higher quality and unique name), first of all chance should be IMO 1% at 90 skill and 2% at 100 skill. that way there is a point going up to 100 skill. 2nd of all it shoulnt be + quality, no one needs quality on items, it should be + bonus stats which are around the same as 20 quality. like for instance if weapon has 100 damage at 0Q and 200 dmg at 100Q (thats how it works as far as i know) if you get unique weapon it should be like +20-30% damage on top of w/e it has, so unique 100Q would be 240-260 dmg while unique 0Q would be 120-130 dmg. and the way luck should work for this i think is 1 luck should mean 10% more chance of what your current chance is (i have no idea how luck works now), for instance if you had 90 skill so 1% chance to make unique, and you get 10 luck you would have 2% chance.

    A lot of interesting ideas here. However, it takes quite a bit of low quality material to make a higher quality object through reforging multiple times. This is sort of a way of removing impurities in the lower quality material by reworking it, which wastes quite a bit of material. I do think that different metal types should yield different results for the weapon. But this should be done in terms of durability, as increasing damage based on weapon material would just be more work for the developers and would further imbalance combat. Durability differences would be a pretty big deal though, seeing how quickly everything breaks as far as weapons go.

    Level 90 plus should grant you the ability to inlay weapons and armor and use gems as well to create decorated pommels. This should be a long term project for the devs though, and not something to be added anytime soon.

    if using different materials would only make durability difference then it would make absolutely 0 sense to make anything out of anything other than what you have the most (copper or iron) since you can simply make 2-3 of that weapon and have it with you, i mean realistically u wouldnt break even 1 anyways so, i just want to be able to make weapons and armors out of steel and vostaskus, otherwise whats the point of those metals even existing? since when you only need copper and iron weapons and armors and you dont need steel? increasing damage based on materials isnt all that hard actually, its not much work, can be done with very simple coding and wouldnt make much difference in stability or anything really.

    also it would be better if resmelting items yielded way less than now, maybe around 25% until skill level 100, and around 50% on 100. that way it would really be harder to get 100Q stuff, but right now you need to resmelt like 2-3 times maximum to get 100Q and u dont even lose half of resources in the process.
