Living Ecosystem with Advanced AI

Survival games are definitely my favorite genre but it seems like nearly most of them ignore the environment portion in the game. I want to feel like I'm in a living and breathing world, seeing random happen as I go about doing my chores. I want to see animals roam in packs, stalk one another, react to my encounters, and react with each other. I want to see an ecosystem with an elaborate food chain. While these features don't impact what you can do, it will impact the atmosphere of the game and encourage replayability. This will ease the the days where you're doing an excessive amount of chorus. You'll see birds fly around, foxes chase after rabbits, and a bear which will force you to run indoors. One thing I'd be against is extinction, obviously that has no purpose in a game like this.

As of right now the environment is beautiful but it doesn't feel alive, so the beauty of it is ignored. The AI of animals is also completely dead. In my personal opinion, these are the first things that should be focused on. In the real world, animals were a real threat to people. In fact, they still are. Currently the environment feels like no threat. I hope for things to change so we can build more memories in the game.

    Fixed spawn places are a bane of this game, and more moving and behaving fauna would do a lot so that the world feels more alive.
    Not only animals hunting each other, but also details, like:
    -) boars rolling in the mud
    -) hares drumming on the ground with a leg
    -) Two Deer fighting for a hind
    -) Wolves roaming over the land in a pack
    -) Mating behaviour

    Agree.

    I want to have growth stages for each animal.
    1) newborn
    2) Cub
    3) young adult
    4) Mature animal
    5) Elder large animal

    and for reproduction when lvl 4 or 5 meet and a random is make they start a reproduction of a new tier 1 animal also pigs and haves etc may have more than 1 young at a time.

    hunting to extension level will have an affect on the region and new wondering animals may find more food and reproduce easier. If there are zero animals in a given zone make a few cubs appear of a random animal and let a life cycle start over at every so many days of in game play. I know everyone is saying oh no this will cause more server lag, well maybe some items need not happen every morning lag.

    Also this may help with he concept of wolves and bears or maybe new animals like cougars be actual predictor animals

    So animal classes will expand or change to things like docile, pack/herd, predator. Each group could have different stats like range of travel, food requirement etc


    also could minor animals be implements like small birds chipmunks and frogs.
    Aquatic and animals that use both land and water also need to be included.

    Finding animals that have died of natural causes or another animal killing them(certain time frame before they become skeleton, then disappear) would be amazing. Also if it actually tracked populations of the animals in regions on servers would be amazing. Imagine if you have a village of 10 people and all are hunting out of there, would be less animals in that area due to being hunted out then if you found a place that no one was hunting. Obviously this could get quite advanced and lots of coding but would be amazing future feature when get other stuff they looking to implement in. Also maybe let the animals have stats like weight, antler points, for competitions and so forth.

    I agree and going to throw my extra 5 cents to the idea.

    What troubles me the most about animals is that usually they spawn alone and extremely rarely in small numbers.
    My proposition is that instead server should spawn them as herds or packs.
    Ofcourse some animals like bears etc should spawn alone.
    In addition i would like also to see them travel sometimes around server in herds lead by alpha (which in my opinion should be slightly stronger then rest) especially when they are predators.
    Make them agro\run away as group to prevent too easy hunting (attacking one wolf should result in agro-ing whole pack). :D

    I AGREE! It would immerse the game highly and would bring more people to the game. But obviously such an AI is quite hard to implement at this stage...but they Should!

    They could perhaps start with a higher divversity of animals and therefore ressources and recipes comming with them... my Post:
