Review

I have not found one in this similar era/style, to be better

***This will be my first review on any game from Steam/in general, so if I miss anything out, please forgive.***

I only have 60 hours or so of play-time recorded, but around 55 hours of those 60, I had been playing Life Is Feudal with people I never even gamed with before. By this, I simply mean that while at first not knowing/understanding much, I came across one person, then a couple more people, etc, until eventually (my favorite moments in the game) this group of ours had owned a small farming/fishing/trade village. Needless to say, the very first 6 hours or so of game-time was quite unfamiliar and I had a lot of help. But from that point on, I realize now that there are probably slim-to-none other games that can replicate what Life Is Feudal is about. What do I mean? How can I say that (with only just one review/little experience)?

This game boils down to having patience and having the ability to take in advice/learn from others. If you have no patience or have no interest in taking advice or learning from others, you won't enjoy this game to its fullest potential!

The grind can be offsetting, the in-depth complex skilltrees can be confusing, but the learning and level of detail put into this game... I have not found one in this similar era/style, to be better. And I am still looking till this day for one to top it.

You start off with basic character customization. Couple different race options, hair-styles, facial hair; you get the jist. From then, you either have no idea what to put what points into which stat/skill, or looked up a general guide and understand. If you didn't, which I didn't (at first), you'll then load into the game and be off to your new 'life'.

The very first thing I can say that differs from most games: the controls. The way in which you switch in and out of different modes. Then, the way in which you interact with your environment. Not sure since when, but luckily now, you can Mass Produce things, which makes (incoming tip) gathering something such as Plant Fiber, so much easier. Now, you can follow the Tutorial, which guides you to making Primitive Tools. There are a plethora of them, each correlating with different crafts/skills. Once you have the Primitive Tools, you start to attempt to build things. You need resources of different types, in order to construct certain things. So you branch out to other skilltrees. Long story short, there is so much to do in this game that you could sit for 12 hours straight on this and not realize how long it's been!

What I will not do is list pros/cons. I feel this game has enough positives in its arsenal to warrant at least a try. Hell, I was on a certain server or two, got really far in my skilltrees, then said server or two either would wipe their servers, or would be inactive/shutdown for a bit of time. I just recently got my gaming-motivation back and not even a few days later, I reinstalled this game and might even log back in after completing this review.

Will you enjoy it? I have no damn clue. I think if you have a reasonable amount of time, a reasonable amount of patience and learning skills.. I *think* this game deserves a shot on your computer. Try it. I would also suggest something else, in terms of how you can get the game, but I will not say on this review (message me 'G). What I do think, though, is that if you are a person who enjoys a challenge; maybe even possess a taste for Medieval Realism, then I am confident you will enjoy this game as much as I have for my not-so-lengthy time spending (60 hours, to me, is quite a bit >.<)...

Feel free to add me on Steam if you need any advice or help, I'll gladly play as well if time permits.

Hope this review helped, even a little! Now get out there, ya 'Bloody Peasant!
