After a very successful last round of kingdom building, war, and epic roleplay story lines, Caridia is scheduled to release a new iteration of the server this Saturday 03/30/2019!!!
We are introducing an entirely custom made map that was made using landscape molding software as opposed to dark/light pixel mapping. What this results in is a more epic map with larger more accessible mountains, cleaner landscapes, and smoother travel all around.
We are also introducing entirely new and unique economy features that prevent escalated coin inflation while allowing for a realistic trade market. The value of goods is dictated by the players. GM markets are still ran, but are designed in a way that allows player-to-player trade to be far more rewarding and the "go to" option for players.
Our skill cap is 1,500 for crafting skills and 800 for combat skills. This allows more independent players to get a good footing and to live happily, however, NO player will ever be able to accomplish everything alone. Caridia is a roleplay server and to truly achieve greatness our system is designed so that you have to get out and roleplay!
PLAYER-TO-PLAYER TRADE PRIORITY
One of the most important things to us next to realistic roleplay is making players useful and making the things they do actually useful to the other players around them. Our economy features combined with our skill cap promotes player-to-player trade as the standard! The GM Market does not sell high quality finished goods for example. You want a shiny new high quality sword? Learn to make them, or find someone to buy one from! You want to specialize in mastercrafting bows? Go ahead because people WILL NEED your bows. The only way to get the good ones, is for a crafter like you to make them!!!
UNIQUE SERVER FEATURES
We are introducing some very unique features to Caridia this go around. Our new features include a meaningful assassination system. Ever want to play an assassin and have your kills actually affect things and mean something? Well now you can! But be careful, the risks are just as high as the potential rewards. We will also be introducing an entirely new feature we call Blood Duels. Dueling someone to solve your disputes is all good fun. But, they just come right back, so what have you really resolved? Well, in Caridia you can challenge them to a BLOOD DUEL. Yes, it's perma-death!!! (Read the rules for details, both parties must agree to a Blood Duel. There is no rampant widespread perma-death in Caridia, but more options for those who enjoy them is always more fun in our minds!)
THE WILDMEN OF CARIDIA
As far back as anyone can remember the forests and caves of Caridia have been home to what the local population refers to as "Wildmen". Short in stature and typically darker of skin they are easily recognizable by their primitive sparse clothing and crude weapons. They are also known to smear their skin in paint and speak in unintelligible clicks and grunts. While usually not a threat to most soldiers and more hardy travellers, they have been known to bring harm to the less prepared who venture out into the world. Rarely they amass in numbers large enough to overrun small settlements. While their motivations remain somewhat unclear, they never leave anything metallic on the bodies of their victims, if a body remains at all. Cannibalism is quite common.
THE GM TEAM
The GM team is a dedicated group of both US and EU players so someone is almost always available to support our players. We are self policing and no cheating is ever tolerated. We are always impartial and always unbiased in our rulings as we believe that is one of the most, if not the most important parts of a healthy server. Our motto is the more sand we can put in the sandbox for the players, the better. We run this server to show our players a good time because we enjoy playing this game, and we want to create a system we would enjoy to play in for our players.
