Friend of mine is unable to play. He joins the server I'm on, and freezes after 30 seconds. It isn't a client freeze, because the environment around him still moves, though he cannot move his character. He also noted that other characters around him move, but not normally; as in their character moves but the legs do not move.

we tried several fixes, turning off firewall, validating steam files, reinstalling, trying other servers, checking latency, all seem to not work.

It seems like it's a connection issue he has, since the client runs fine but he's unable to play online.

Anyone have these similar issues?

So I think we found the source of the bug. Everytime he shift-tabs for steam chat, or alt-tabs, his game freezes. Odd, but how do we fix it?

4 month pass I have the same problems as u wrote. Bad luck, i cant play game.

Disable steam overlay in the game and don't alt tab?

Could also play in window mode if needed as well.
