So I mean, ie: every 1 or 2 week(s) a dev post saying "hi! today we implemented X feature and see this screenshot related!!" that would be nice

Give them a litle bit more time. They are preparing to start the Alpha and then there will be plenty of news, both from dev. team and from testers.
You should expect it anyday now.

Anyway, maybe I'm wrong, but we don't really want to make our main page crowded with twitter-like news:
- I've scratched my left cheek today
- Fixed character animation glitch
- Ate a good sandwich and so on

There surely will be some news in next few days, and good news. And ETA for start of closed alpha is like beginning of February and that is not that far
