It's not realistic having 500 fish for example and that it doensn't spoil. I'd love that the food get spoiled over time if is not preserved (in a smokehouse, or curing house, salting house...another building where you can make hams or pickles, sausages, etc). It would add difficulty and it'd add inmersion to the game.
