Q: Soft/Hard Health and Stamina bars, Hunger. What are they for?
A: In Life is Feudal there are several bars that reflect player’s conditions in detail:
1. Red Soft/Hard HP Bar. Soft HP Bar (upper) shows the state of your character’s conscience. After the Soft HP Bar’s value is equal to zero, your character will be knocked out. Once the Hard HP bar is depleted, it will inevitably lead to death and subsequent respawn with the experience loss, and in worst case skill loss, as well as “resurrection sickness” effect;
2. Yellow Soft/Hard Stamina Bar. Soft Stamina Bar (upper) shows if your character is not winded and still has enough power to sprint. Hard Stamina Bar is used for a long-termed enduring non-sprinting run.
3. Green Hunger bar is used to show how far your alter-ego is from dying because of undernourishment.
Q: What are the basic stats in Life is Feudal: MMO?
A: There are 5 main indicators - combinations of which will determine what kind of skills can be used by a single player:
Strength (Str). Each point of strength determines effective equipment weight by 0.5 points. It does not increase attack damage, but allows you to effectively wield heavier weapons and armor;
Agility (Agi). Each point of agility increases movement speed and accurracy of ranged weaponry;
Constitution (Con). Each point of constitution grants +1 soft HP and +1 hard HP. Each point will increase the inventory capacity by 0.5 points;
Willpower (Will). Each point of willpower grants player +1 soft Stamina, +1 hard Stamina, and increases the weight capacity by 2;
Intellect (Int). Each point of intellect past 10 increases total skillcap by +2 points.
A: There are total 55 different skills in our game, that are divided into three types:
Crafting - allows the character to craft and construct items, objects, and buildings;
Combat - allows the character to equip certain type of weapons and different types of armors as well as warhorses and use siege weaponry;
Minor - allows the character to impose certain in-game actions like gestures or additional moves.
Note: Every branch of skills consists of 3 (combat) and 4 (crafting) tiers . Combat skills additionally include four independent skills. The next tier of each skill is unlocked upon reaching 30 skill points in the previous tier. Increasing next tier skill past 29.999 is possible upon reaching 60 skill points in previous tier. Minor skills are the only exception, as they consist only of independent skills.
Q: Skill Cap system. What is it?
A: Life is Feudal: MMO imposes a Skill Cap, which basically means that the total sum of all your skills cannot be higher than a certain value. During the in-game progress, a player will be supplied with 400 points, which they can use on improving their skills. Players can increase or decrease every particular skill, to improve one skill in priority of others, or to redistribute the points, but it’s impossible to master all the skills.
Click here to find a more detailed description of this principle.
Q: My skills are increasing very slowly. Is there any way to quicken this process?
A: Speed of the skill growth is governed solely by their current level and place in the skill branch and it cannot be increased by any means. Reaching lower milestones (0 - 30) may take from 30 to 150 minutes, depending on their tier, while the higher milestones and tiers may take days and even weeks. Highest ones (90 and 100) are the toughest and will take months to reach such mastery.
Note: Growing skills is a passive activity, but it depends on the amount of Experience you've accumulated by performing various activities from Crafting and Combat skill group. You can boost the experience gain speed by increasing your food quality multiplier with a food of high complexity. As an alternative, or as an addition, you can also boost your experience gain multiplier with “Power Hour” premium feature, available in premium shop and for premium subscribers. Additionally, ith Premium Subscription, you can increase not one, but two skills at the same time.
2. BUILDINGS AND CLAIMS
Q: How can I build a house of my own?
A: First, you need to reach the level 30 in the Artisan branch in order to unlock the Construction skill. Then, you need to properly level the ground and gather resources required for your house.
Addressing the ins and outs of building your home, we’ve put together an interesting introductory guide
Note: Video shows outdated UI and some of the old game mechanics, but it will still give you some basic idea how to build a house
For a full list of constructible houses, proceed here.
Q: How can I erect a monument?
A: To create a Private Monument, you must be located within the Green Zone area, right click on the tile, select Claim Land option, which will mark your claim territory and will allow you to become a righteous landlord.
In order to create a Guild Monument in Life is Feudal: MMO, the player needs to be a leader of a guild that consists of min. 10 players located outside the Green Zone area. Once that requirement is met, choose a free fief to claim, right click on the tile within that fief and select Build→ the Monument, which will mark your claim territory. Interacting and managing the guild is done via Monument (Right click on Monument and select Manage the Monument/Worship the Monument) and a website guild panel in Life is Feudal: MMO.
Q: I just wanted to erect a Monument, but got a message "God does not allow you to claim these lands!" instead. What does it mean?
A: No need for static. It just means the spot you’ve chosen is too close to another guild's fief. Try again and choose another place that is not bordering with the fief of another guild.
3. Communication Between Players
Q: How can I communicate with other players in-game?
A: In order to achieve maximum convenience, several situational in-game chat systems have been established:
1. Local Chat. Used to communicate with players that are relatively nearby. Divided into three sub chats:
/whisper (text) or /# (text) is used to deliver a short range message that will be noticed only by players that are really close to you. (approx. 25 meter range)
/say (text) or just type a message text into chat window. That message will be delivered to all the feudalists in a 100+ meter range.
/shout (text) or /! (text) and a message text to send a message within a 250 meter range.
2. Global Chat. Used to communicate with a certain type of feudalists either when the information going to be told is pretty private. Divided into several sub chats:
#godenland chat is used to communicate with players connected to the world of Godenland.
#illa-newydd chat is used to communicate with players connected to the world of Illa-Newydd (Newbie Island).
#help chat is used to communicate globally for assistance with the game, be it to receive it or to provide it to others.
#testers chat is used to communicate globally with all the players currently connected to the game on all worlds.
#lfg chat is used to look for guild and advertise guild recruitment. Guild adverts are only allowed in that channel.
/msg (name) (text) or /tell (name) (text) to send a private message to another player.
Free chat room. Type in /join (channel name) to create a new or join an existing free chat channel.
Q: Is there a voice chat in Life is Feudal: MMO?
A: Unfortunately, there is no voice communication implemented in the MMO version at this moment. Still, for your convenience, we’ve made an official Life is Feudal Discord, so feudalists can always stay in touch with each other! You can join the party at this link.
4. COMBAT ISSUES
Q: Combat system. How should I battle?
A: There are several different factors you must take into account when fighting your foe in a fair battle. Damage system takes two important physics measurements: mass and velocity. Moreover, every weapon has its own unique most damaging parts, or ‘nodes’, which players can use by performing several types of attacks: thrust attack, swing attack, overhead attack. Damage dealt is determined by an attack direction.
More detailed description of combat system could be found here:
Q: Battle classes. What are they?
A: Keep in mind that, you’re free to progress your combat skills as you see fit due to the Skill Cap system, which may result in your special combat class. But there are a couple of meta classes in our skills that you may want to stick to. For instance, if you decide to become a brutal rider, rushing upon your enemies in the storm of sacred battle, you will have to choose the branch of “Cavalry” skills. It will give you a nice start on this cruel metier. In the future, as you walk the path of war, your status will be improved and you will be able to use deadlier weapons and better armor. The path consists of three different stages to achieve, and level-up comes out after the achievement of 30 and 60 level of skills accordingly.
A: Depending on your personal preferences, there are several types of weapons in the game:
Ranged - everything that can bring doom to your enemies from a distance. Includes: bows, crossbows, javelins, throwing knives, and even slings armed with stones;
One-handed sword - a noble weaponry for a glorious battle. Includes: sword, falchion, sabre, scimitar;
One-handed axe- simple and effective way to send your foe to his Maker. Includes: battle axe, nordic axe, war axe;
One-handed mace - to crush your enemy without spoiling his armor. Includes: morning star, war pick, flanged mace, cudgel;
Hand-and-a-half sword - for a quick strike out of nowhere. Includes: bastard sword, big falchion, estoc, Gross Messer;
Two-handed swords - for crushing your enemy with double impact force. Includes: claymore, flamberge, zweihander, longsword, practice weaponry;
Two-handed axes - double the hand, double the malice! Includes: war scythe, bardiche, broad axe, great axe for practicing;
Two-handed maces - to crush your enemy without spoiling his armor with a double power! Includes: Sledge hammer, maul, practice maul;
Spears - armor is too tough? Pierce is the answer! Includes: spear, boar spear, awl pike, bec de corbin;
Pikes - That long pointy stick will stop any horse and will let its rider to fly forward due to inertia. Now, this weapon is your choice! Includes: short, long and medium pikes;
Lances - to take out another mounted knight. Includes: Jousting lance, lance, decorated jousting lance;
Polearms - slashing and piercing damage in one single weapon - a dream indeed! Includes: poleaxe, partisan, guisame.
When witnessing such a variety, it’s essential NOT to forget: every weapon has its own type of damage. Let’s take a quick look through them:
Slashing damage - most common type of damage that can be encountered in-game - slashing blow. Can be dealt by the most bladed weaponry as well as by aggressive wild animals. Effective against unarmored or slightly armored characters. Almost ineffective against heavily armored characters;
Blunt damage - a non-lethal type of damage which can, however, lead to serious injuries. Affects Soft HP instead of Hard HP. Can be dealt with hammers, mauls and some of the wild animals. Сan send a heavy armor character to a tough knockout, but will not be effective while fighting with a light armored character. Low amount of blunt damage is dealt if the opponent is hit with the grip of the weapon;
Piercing damage - can be dealt by spears, pikes and bodkin arrows. A good way to take heavy armored character down;
Chopping damage -
Impact damage -
Siege damage - to crush the walls. Could be dealt by sledge hammers, siege weaponry, siege torch, trebuchet and fire arrows.
Choose the weapon according to your personal preferences and situation around you.
Q: What types of armor are presented in game?
A: There are several types of armor in Life is Feudal: MMO:
Padded armor. Typical armor for militia, spearman and guard units. Adds a battle bonuses to polearms and spears. Reduces incoming blunt & impact damage;
Leather armor. An archer’s choice. Suitable for slingers, archers, and rangers. Adds battle bonuses to short bows, crossbows, and longbows and reduces reload speed;
Scale armor. For those who prefer to fight hand-to-hand. Suitable for footmen, swordsmen, and huscarl. Adds battle bonuses to short-handed swords and increases protection from shields;
Chainmail armor. For those, who prefer a horse as a battle companion. Suitable for novice cavalry, knights, and lancers. Supplies bonuses for lances;

There are four overall tiers of armor you can wear. And it depends on your skill: novice, regular, heavyand royal. Durability of every armor depends on quality and fragility.
Q: What is a “blueprint”?
A: A “Blueprint” is used to craft higher tier items. They have a chance to drop randomly upon every crafting action. When creating a regular armor you have a small chance of obtaining a blueprint for a heavy armor, and making heavy armor gives you a small chance of obtaining a blueprint for the royal armor.
After the creation, your character will inevitably forget how to create a blueprint armor.
5. TRADE AND ECONOMICS
Q: Trading posts. What are they?
A: Trading posts are what makes the world economics spin. The trading post is a special type of an Outpost which allows players to exchange their goods. Its core functioning isn’t complicated: players are placing the goods in the trading post and set the price for them. Together, trading posts are emerging as an enormous system, where players can see the trade offers from every trading post in the Realm.
One will have to bring his gold to the post where the item is stored and conduct the trade there. In short, every trading post will show every trade offer, but only one post will be able to distribute the good from that specific offer.
And yes, medieval times are not to be called medieval without a certain risk, emerging out of nowhere. It’s fair to say, that goods stored are not safe and can be taken by a guild you’re currently warring with if they succeed at raiding and capturing the Trade post.
Resources and skills needed for building the Trading post can be found here.
Q: What is God's Favor?
A: God’s Favor is a premium shop currency with multiple ways to spend. Using this currency, players can purchase unique cosmetic items in an in-game premium store.
Q: What are Coins?
A: When interacting with a Trading Post and selling items to The Crown a player will get a certain amount of coins - the primary currency of the Realm.
There are currently 3 types of coins: bronze coins, silver coins and gold coins.
Q: What is The Crown?
A: It is the NPCs owned entity that holds control over the four villages in the Protectorate zones and buys items from players. You can consider it as an euphemism for global economic system implemented in Life is Feudal: MMO.
6. TERRAFORMING AND BUILDING
Q: How terraforming is performed here?
A: In Life is Feudal: MMO terraforming feature сan change the terrain almost in every way and limited by the laws of physics only. It basically means that you can dig a giant hill, a deep mine and perform almost every kind of earthworks. Terraforming consists of three different actions: Observation, Modifying Terrain, Flattering Terrain.
Observation. “Observe” option allows the player to view the terrain height in an 11 x 11 grid. Each tile in the Observe mode within the grid has a number representing their height above sea level and these numbers are color-coded to denote the height difference between every other tile in the nearby area. The tiles are highlighted with white for unflattened tile or green for flattened tile. The material is taken off or poured on the ground also affect the texture of the tile an example would be unscathed fertile soils are textured as green grasslands in the world, but if a player decides to pour a fertile soil on top it the texture will be shown as brown;
After you’ve selected the area you want to work with, it’s time to proceed to Terrain Modifying. In Life is Feudal: MMO you can either raise or lower the selected tile by 0.1 meters of its current height. When lowering terrain, the player gains a pile of material removed from the ground which can be spent on raising the ground later. You can usually pick up what you have dropped, except for paving, which takes 30 units of rock, while lowering the terrain on paved tile gives you back only 15 units of rock. Solid terrain (rock, marble, granite, ore) cannot be lowered, only dug out.
When you will finally satisfy your creative intentions, you may finally proceed to Terrain Flattening. Remember: no matter what earthworks were done, you cannot build almost anything on an uneven ground. The action works by copying the height of the tile the player is standing on to the tile that is being flattened, which means that the player will either lower or raise the ground first before the tile will be flattened. The player can also flatten the terrain in an upward or downward slope where these tiles are sloped in a specific direction based where the player is facing, but only a few structures, such as fences and walls, can be built on the sloped terrain.
Q: What if I want to dig an underground mine?
A: In order to have your own underground mine you should equip a pickaxe, then use Dig a tunnel/Dig a tunnel upward/Dig a tunnel downward commands and dig your way into the precious resources. Aside from that, always remember to reinforce the walls of the tunnel and supply your mine with support columns on time in order to prevent being buried alive.
Action “Reinforce Tunnel Walls” requires 4 boards and primitive hammer or a mallet.
Action “Construct a Supporting Column” requires 2 building logs and primitive hammer or a mallet.
Note: Supporting Column provides support for 3x3 area
Q: How can I get out of Newbie Island?
A: One does not simply leave this sacred land. If you will decide to farewell our hospitable island, you should acquaint with Ferryman, located in a tower of crashed ships. This tower can be noticed by a giant pillar of light, proudly rising on the north. But, in case if you will get lost, we will supply you with a smalltip. You are welcome.
Q: How does the ticket to the mainland work?
After you get to the Ferryman, you will be offered to pay the price and leave the Newbie Island with a ticket to the mainland, where the great deeds are being done and where the history will be written. As a new player, you should have one free ticket in your inventory. Later you can also buy this ticket from the in-game shop. Also, a certain amount tickets will be granted to you once you purchase a Starter Pack. These tickets are undroppable and will stay in your shop inventory right until the moment you decide to use them.
IMPORTANT: Tickets are not transferable and cannot be shared with other players.
7. SPAWNING ISSUES
Q: How can I get back home from far away?
A: We’ve created a special ability for that matter. The ability Prayer for Homecoming will teleport you to your last set home when used. If none is set, the abiltiy will not work and you will not be teleported. Be aware, that all your items (except 'no drop' items) will be dropped on the ground before you will be teleported.
Q: I just lost my house. Where will I respawn if I die?
A: If you die in the green zone, you'll respawn in the same green zone you were located in, and if you die outside of green zone, then you'll respawn in a random
8. FARMING AND GREEN THUMBING
Q: What is the difference between climatic zones?
A: Every climatic zone is favorable for a different craft. Lumberjacks will feel themselves comfortable in the north as trees are growing way faster there. Farmers can satisfy their needs in the south because of the sun, animals breeding faster and because of crops grow faster. Choose your location according to your needs.
Q: What is the difference between seasons?
A: Almost the same as climatic zones. Every season is favorable for a different craft. Winter is good for logging, summer is good for crops growing and harvesting.
Q: How can I start my own farm?
A: You need to level up Household to Tier 2, so you could unlock the Farming skill. Farming is used to produce crops for activities such as Cooking, Animal Lore, and sowing new crops. Here’s what you need to harvest your first crop:
Check the map and make sure you are in the correct region for the crops you want to grow, as they cannot be grown outside the region where they can be gathered;
Check the calendar and wait for the right seeding season for the crops you want to grow;
Prepare a soil for a sow. Unplowed soil will not be able to bring any harvest. With a shovel equipped, you can right click on the ground and choose Farming/Plow to turn the selected soil to plow it. Alternatively, you can craft a Plough and use it to plow the soil faster. Rocky surfaces and some steep tiles cannot be plowed, so get rid of rocks and pavement before seeding anything;
After all the preparations will be finished and the seeding season is finally there, sow your seeds;
Wait until the gathering season of your crops and gather them before they decay;
After you harvest your crops, the used soil will turn into regular soil and will decrease in quality.
Note: Low quality fertile soil can be improved by fertilizing it. This ability will be unlocked once you achieve Level 90 Farming. Take Dung from your coops, barns, and stables, right click on the ground and choose Farming/Fertilize.
For more detailed description of farming processes, proceed here.
Q: How do the crops grow?
A: The crops can only be sowed during the Seeding season and harvested during the Gathering season. They only grow during that time and only in the specific regions. You can check on the map which crops can be gathered and sowed in which region.
Q: What if I will forget to gather the harvest?
A: That will be a great misfortune because if you will not manage to collect your crops in time, it will rot and disappear.
9. DEATH AND ITS CONSEQUENCES
Q: I got wounded. What can I do?
A: Undoubtedly, you сan just sit and wait for your wound to heal. But it will take a whole bunch of time. If you want to go an easy way, you should have at least one skilled Healer in your team.
Healing is one of the three Tier 3 crafting skills in Gathering branch. It allows healing player's wounds and fractures. While healing doesn't restore HP, it can speed up the healing process over time by mending fractures or wounds by applying the "Bed Rest" effect on whoever you healed.
Q: My stats got decreased after I died. What’s going on?
A: Congratulations, you’ve just experienced a “resurrection sickness”. A debuff that significantly lowers your regeneration rates and overall combat efficiency. Will wear off through time.
Q: My skills got decreased after I died. What now?
A: This is another side of “resurrection sickness”: depending on your character’s alignment, the amount of experience loss (and in worst case skill loss) will be calculated and will decrease randomly selected skills values.
IMPORTANT: Skill loss will not occur during battle or arena fight.
In order to avoid such a skill loss, you should keep the positive amount of your alignment. This could be achieved with common sense and “Praise your God!” ability (Piety skill). Right now, it’s the only way to restore your alignment. Alignment gain can only happen once per in-game day (5 real-time hours). Using this ability more than once per in-game day will yield no results.
Note:
Idols, Altars and Churches raise the effectiveness of the prayer.
Indulgence from the Pope can also increase the alignment, and is the only option to regain it for characters with alignment below -49.
Q: What is "full loot"?
A: One of the basic hardcore principles of Life is Feudal: MMO is so-called “full loot” system. It means that if you got knocked out or killed, anyone can take away all your personal belonging from your inventory. Enemy can empty your pockets, take your armor set or even rip your head off after defeating you (Note: Sinner's Head can only be taken from the criminals with negative alignment). This principle is designed to give toughness and interest to the game process, forcing players to fight to the last in order not to lose everything.
