It would be great to be able to place more items in the game world, for example, place jugs, drink and food on a table, a bear or wolf pelt on the floor as a rug or on beds, etc. I understand it is much simpler and probably less demanding on the game to not have to render every item, but perhaps even just some of the items or some generic drops instead of just the bag all the time, like the pelts or a simple bowl or plate to signify food...
Also perhaps be able to pour some other items on the ground like you can with ore and stone, perhaps like dung or straw, to create mounds of it and also to be able to put straw down as a floor in some areas...
