Realistic races

Title says all, realistic 'races' from around Europe instead of made up races, one feature of this would be having a variation of buildings, skills whatever, and once larger maps comes around maybe have these races spawn in different parts of the world, then a extra feature could be this, once these different people cross into other races native lands and start to work and live their, they gain culture points so eventually they can build and use the same skills as those around them.

    Forcing players to spawn at some place because of their race is not a good idea I think, especially considering the lore of the game.. personally I think 'race' should be purely for aesthetics. If you want different culture weapons and buildings, the game should give you the ability to build any of them.

    in fact, don't you read roadmap/interviews etc... ? wait for a few weeks, we'll get character creation and... all the 3 races... :s (ethnic buildings style will be implemented too in the future...)

    It talks about Character creation and woman models yes, but it doesn't say anything about new races.

    But surely to enforce the realism of the game their should be some kind of barrier between different cultures and races, and not allow people to make what they please just cuz.

    And can I make it clear quick, I don't think I specified when I used the term 'race', by race I mean the different culture 'groups' from around Europe that surfaced before the middle ages or at the start of the middle ages, so I'm talking people such as, Angles, Anglo-Saxons, Britons, Normans. I'm not a History expert so If I use any incorect terms I'm sorry, but now you must get the picture of what I mean by 'race'

    there are already 3 races in the game, that you choose at character creation, but while there's no character edition, you cannot see difference... but choose it, read, and come back there "asking for races' ... :s

    ok... then... quick lesson :

    it's a late middle age realistic era.. (full plate armor wasn't really middle age...)
    angles are nordic race in game
    Anglo-Saxons, Britons, Normans are european race (britons and normans were in france during middle age... anglo saxon and normans were in england... then... same)
    the third race may be the mediteranean race, arabic, hispanic etc...

    and then, if in game you need something typic, do it yourself... painters will be able to pain shields, making heraldic tabar and banners etc... so, choosing a race at creation, painters making specific clan/heraldic symbols etc, and in the futur, specific building style... it's already planned...

    so... if you want to make a French knight, or and English arbalestrie, or a Nordic warrior... you'll can do it... and in the MMO game, the best will be joining communities with the same esthetic tastes...

    Pretty good points, apart from the last one. Surely if you want 'similar esthetic tastes' then you should do as I implied?, races should spawn in similar areas.

    we don't know for now how spawning will be... the MMO map will be 49 times bigger than now... and... it's a sandbox... anybody is free to play an arab in england (as archeologists already found african skulls in fourth century... blond caucasian mummy in before christ era chinese tomb etc...)
    then... let the player the freedom to do whatever they want, and maybe server will run only strict roleplay, and others will prefer doing bullshit medieval...

    (and for being more accurate... normans are... nordic people, but in france, england and sicilla (also israel but for almost 50 years only...but they brang their own style that made a new one... the normandic style)

    But honestly, it's not realistic what so ever, which is an aim of the game. As seen here.

    er.... it's realistic in form,

    players have to make it realistic from their actions... no one must do something, we are free to do whatever we want... then... if you don't accept a race or somebody who want or need a nordic armor/paints when you are a French Knight community... you have to bannish/kill/oblige him to adapt to your rules... Oo

    there is no rule in the game, it's a SANDBOX, people, players have to make their own rules.

    No, that's stupid, as it states, it's a realistic medieval sandbox, people should be able to do what they want sure, but in reason. People can do what they want, build what they want, war who who they please, what ever. But in reason, is you want arabic swords and buildings, well that's too bad. Life Is Fuedal, get used to it.
