Since steel caps your tools at 80, you probably go see vostaskus after a while if it's worthy. It's not. 1 vostaskus ingot requires 120 iron ingots, 60 copper ingots and a bunch of gold and silver to make a single miserable vostaskus ingot. No, for tools or weapons, you not spend vostaskus. Even steel don't make sense, because 1 half of the iron just vanish.
I suggest some changes.
Steel Ingot recipe becomes 1 iron ingot + 50 or 100 flux and it's cap becomes 100; Vostaskus becomes part of royal recipes and only royal ones.

0I think charcoal would be ok to make up for the reduction of an iron ingot to make a steel ingot. I don't think flux should be increased as it requires 12 flux and 2 iron ingots to make 1 steel ingot. The 12 flux is enough, but it should only be 1 iron ingot with a cost increase of charcoal maybe.
The argument against this is that there is "billions of tonnes of iron ore". However the argument against this is that a lot of that iron is well below the search range of the skill and would require building a mine 30-60 tiles deep, then doing a search for iron and hoping that you might find iron. And when that iron gets pulled out of the ground, how many more tiles will one have to dig to access iron that's even lower? -
