Needs to be balanced by slowing you down, and not OP when using a shield. +1

Ducking while manning the walls is a must. Need to be able to crouch between xbow reloads once we get working xbow that is.

Crouched and with a shield should make you move at like 30 speed, basically waddle.

There is no real way of reloading a Crossbow while crouching except while using a crows-foot (in reality, speaking of classical basic crossbows with no included means of reloading).
The draw weight for a powerfull Crossbow as meant to be used in War is just too much to be handled without at least stepping on the metal stirrup and / or using a crowsfoot.

Other than that I'm all for it.

Push/Pull lever or windlass/crank styles of crossbows are drawn a lot more easily than you think, even when crouched.
The Light Crossbow I can see possibly having only a lever, however it would be hard to find any Arbalest style without a windlass or more modern cranking gear. These came later around the 12th century. The "hard to pull" crossbow styles you are thinking of are more around the 400-300 BC in Greece or later in Rome. By the 11th and 12th centuries A.D. drawing a crossbow was rather easy in comparison, and even allowed for mounted crossbowmen.

Well it seems like it should be possible for the light crosbows, but not for the alabaste or heavy crossbows, you would have to stand to cock those.

I really like the idea of being able to crawl actually. It would be an interesting and realistic means of stealth whilst hunting or hiding etc and one that very few games allow! :)

Hi there ! Will we be able to crouch or prone in the game ?

Hi there, this isn't on the cards at the moment, but it is a possibility for the future, post release - hope this helps

This may help... they won't put crouching/proning, but if we ask it loud enough... so, it's a up

They'd have to make it so you can only do it in light armor/clothes... crouching in full plate would be ridiculous lol

you can crouch in plate in real life but for the balance, tincans shouldnt able to crouch. If tincans can crouch, then there is no point of being a light infantry

I don't think you could load a cross bow while crouching

To balance out the plate, just keep what they're already doing, Make it loud as shit, that would then take away the sneaking element that crouching and crawling is meant for.

Light infantry is a lot cheaper and more agile. Your speed and stamina is superior. But a armored knight are no slow snail unable to move effieciently. I personaly prefer the medium chainmail. Optimal balance between damage mitigation and weigh. There is not much point having a ranged defender up on the walls in fullplate. The armor is heavy and expensive, and the walls provide good cover. Much better to be able to swiftly run to other towers or walls for a rapid responce of an attack. A knight in fullplate have no reasons not being able to crouch, either in temrs of realism or balance.

hi, i would have to agree, if your check https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qztwbqnilsc you can see how much they can move, and tbh if a person in real life moved like the heavy plate wearers in this game, they wouldn't of bothered with armour, which most people do atm anyway, but i'm off point, crouching should be implemented, even if you move at rez sickness speed while doing it, it should still be in it, i can not believe a guy in heavy plate guarding the walls, not ducking under it to shield himself from archer fire, so please implemented crouching

    ,cheers.

Maybe have sound reduced for light armors so they can come really close without almost any sound compared to heavier armors. Also while hunting animals that would help you getting closer without animal running away.
