Silver Sun Republic a public RP-PvP ruleset for those who want to RP and develop a deeper community for when the MMO launches.
Our flavor of RP isn't PvE driven since I and our community doesn't believe that true RP can exist without PvP, so expect PvP rules to be turned on. RP events and a player driven storyline will be recorded and published from what happens on the server. Our goal is to generate in-game, dynamic RP rather than sitting around 'tavern RPing.'
The premise for our server is a colonial province of the SSR in which other guilds/groups will be present with an ongoing civil war/insurgency generating motivation for player made factions and groups.

How do you plan to deal with griefers/gankers? Will your server contain too much PvP and not enough RP?
The SSR maintains a capital city that will be policed and patrolled by our military with the rest of the server being treated as frontier/wilderness. There are no fake rules that prevent real RP interaction. If you would like protection from the city guard you are welcome to interact with us in the city and we will include your village or homestead in our patrols. The goal is to prepare for the MMO, mimick a brutal, yet immersive world while teaching people how to defend themselves. We are also looking to build a coalition of likeminded players that can survive in a harsh environment and carve out a deep and enriched culture as a nation of our own.
I don't want to be part of your guild, but I would like to benefit from being around a safer and more populated group; Is that possible here?
Our guild was specifically designed to maintain autonomy and identity of smaller groups of players working together for mutual defense and benefit. You can join with us on whatever level you want whether it's as an independent homestead that trades with us and receives protection or as a 'sub-guild' in which you participate in our Senate, yet still govern your own group. The whole point of what we're trying to do is bring people together on whatever level is best for them, but ultimately benefits the team in the longterm.
I want to play as a bandit, but every RP server ends up being full of whiney players that claim my kind of RP is against the rules; How will that work?
We understand that this is one of the most difficult, yet most rewarding types of RP if done correctly. We set up specific events and maintain a bandit faction of our own players that know the difference between banditry and straight out ganking/griefing. Some of our events are escort/convoy events that allow for fun, interactive raids that draw players into a manhunt possibly resulting in a storyline that requires members to rescue a kidnapped VIP. All while we're RPing, we're also learning teamwork, security and crafting some great stories that we can share in the tavern later. I would much rather share stories in a tavern about what we just did as a group rather than RP out a story about something that never actually happened.
