you are right about thinking more careful about the layers.
for now it is just learning and experimenting around visualizing some data and performance tests for mass data. and it makes lot of fun
one of the next steps will be to implement authentication and role model, then we will figure it out and sharpen the layers more and more.
i agree that it may not so interesting to see where each tree is located on the server
(maybe also for admins to detect unwanted tree farms, which also are a good candidate of bad server performance)
but i don´t think that it is useless for an admin to see, where the players are digging around (at least until they improve the game performance more and more)
one point I take from your comment is for sure adding a guild filter to the player layer for the roles "guild manager" and below
a second point is that we will think about more statistics and polls about how and how often which layers are viewed by users (later)
