Hi there,

I have started to rent a dedicated server in New York that will host a LiF server. Anyone on the east coast should get very good connectivity - as well as our friends across the pond should get a decent connection.

The average ping for users on the east coast is 20ms. I honestly wish I lived closer to my server

I will be actively administrating the server, and we already have 15 active players in 12 hours.

It will be a vanilla server.

It will be a full on PvP server, the only rule is that there is no griefing.

There will be HOURLY backups of the database. Play with us and you know your data is safe from wipes and the like.

I think it is great you are starting a server. What I suggest is to fleshout your rule of "No Griefing" to include what you mean by griefing? That term is so grey that not everyone agrees on the definition. Would be best to flesh it out so there is no doubt on what exactly you mean. Just a helpful hint that will save you much "grief" in the future. GL with your server.

Griefing would be:

Digging holes in peoples bases
Camping people
Killing complete (obvious) noobs with your 2h when they have a primitive axe.
Exploiting of any sort (/stuck to get over walls)

May I ask why? If you can create alt's, it's literally just an annoyance.

Its do to the fact the MMO will be capped at 600 and most people on here want to play at closest to MMO rulesets since they want to get ready for it. Playing 1200 or 3000 just makes it so you are disappointed when the 600 cap comes along for he MMO.
