The basic Rules for our Server (Work in progress)

Post by Vodkat » 08 Jan 2015, 04:49

These are the rules for our server that are in the works, they are far from final and some still have to be approved, i just needed to put them somewere people can easily see them.

No log jumping or floating logs, No floating objects at all, no combat logging or avoiding combat by water, No tunneling into bases or within 5 blocks(metres), No griefing, No building within 5 blocks(metres) of other bases

LIFE IS FEUDAL SEIGE RULES!

Declairing.
A seige must be declaired.
A seige may not be declaired and begin in the same instance.
The attackers must wait at least half an hour before launching their seige.
at least one player from the community being seiged must be online for it to be declaired.
A GM must be aware of the seige to prevent log jumping claims.
A community may only declair one seige every 24 hours.
Allied attacks will count as both communities declaring a seige.
New spawns may not declair seiges the same day they join the server (Seriously, just take some time to settle in and get to know people, it avoids allot of animosity)

Attacking.
Attackers may build a ladder over the wall using logs, these logs must be in contact with other logs. (no free floating logs)
Attackers may not tunnel into a base in a seige. (We cannot undo that damage.)
Attackers can capture gates and force them to be opened.
the gates can only be opned if the owner of said gates has been killed and the attackers are inside it and uncontested.
it can either be rebuilt by a GM or opened by the player who owns them.
Attackers may not craft ammunition on the seige, they must rely on a baggage train from their base.

Defending.
Defenders may not remove logs from the seige ladder. but may camp the top.
defenders may sortie out their gates to engage the enemy at their own risk.
Defenders may craft more amunition/equipment as needed.
Defenders may recapture gates.

Victory/loss
Once one side has been destroyed they are the loser. (all players killed.)
or if one side surrenders.

Death.
If you are killed you are out for that batttle and may not rejoin the engagement.
do not spawn kill defenders after you have killed them, they are out of the engagement and no longer a threat, it is unnecesary harm.
Crashing does not count as a death, and will be delt with when the situation arrises.

Looting.
Upon loosing the defenders must open whatever the attackers ask them to, though they may hide resources but may not defend those hidden resources if they are found.
Only the survivors of the attack may loot and you may not take more than one load of belongings (only one trip guys, you cannot come back)

Conquest rules.
Hexmap rules.
claiming and conquring is a roleplay thing.
the map will be devided into a grid or hexmap and 'land lords' will be able to stake their claim provided they have at least 3 other people with them.
the addition of more people will allow their territory to grow.

Capturing land from other players.
This has yet to be implimented, we will cross that bridge when we come to it, but i assume it will involve some kind of fighting.

OTHER RULES!

Greifing, Define.

Greifing is jumping over walls and deconstructing unfinished buildings, and digging up flattened ground or tunneling or building things such as campfires in an effort to prevent other players from building in that area.
A greifer is someone intentionnaly making the game worse for other players through their actions, such as causing damage to a players base.
griefing can also be camping a player as he spawns, and waiting at the base of his house to kill him when he respawns, this must be appealed to an admin, killing a player a few times is ok, but killing them as many times as you can for as long as you can or until they log out is not ok.
Log jumping over walls is considered as punishable as greifing.

TROLLING.
Trolling although frowned upon is not an immediately bannable offence, this includes hiding in water and taunting people you have just stolen from.
the punishment for trolling can range from a warning to a ban, depending upon the perceeved severity of the actions and how often it occours.
Occasional actions are acceptable but constant trolling is not welcome.

Floating Logs.
Using logs to climb over walls is forbidden outside of a seige scenario, is punishable by ban, however you may use logs to fill in tunnels so that you can walk over the top of them, or even build a treehouse if you really want to, so long as you are not using them to cause greif or annoy other players, go right ahead.

using /stuck to get onto the roof of your home inside combat will warrent a warning, if caught again you will be kicked, if you continue, you will be banned.
using /stuck to get onto roof's outside of combat, is perfectly acceptable.
Using /stuck to get into an opponants base will have a warning issued then if your actions continue you will be banned.

TOURNAMENT

Single combat.
Players decide upon the weapons used and then fight.
Otherwise there may be tournament rules such as specific weapons to be used or even specific weapons banned.
If a combatant yeilds they are defeated, please do not finish them off.
In single combat players equipment is considered protected, please do not rob their grave.

Ranged Combat.
May be fought between two archers shooting eachother or firing upon targets.
Or it may be a competition where each archer fires a number of arrows at their choosing at a seperate target and tally the results, the winner having the highest score.

Trial by combat.
TRial by combat is used to solve disputes among players, if a player is not capable of fighting or is underequiped they may nominate a willing champiion to fight in their stead.
Two handed axes, hammers, bows and polearms are banned in this kind of combat.
No Formations or commands may be used in this combat.
This is to the death, yeilding is placing your life in the hands of your opponent.
The results of a trial by combat are considered Final.

Roleplay primer.
The global chat although not off limits is for OOC communicating, group recruitment and Admin help, if a player is asking for Admin help please refrain from using global chat. (It helps the admins out a little.)

Currency 1 gold =10 silver, 1 silver = 10 copper.
These coins will be attainable from admins only.
earning them is being decided upon, simply joining the server will earn you 5 silver at current.

Coming later.

Tighter definitions on rules and potentially more rules.

I assume you made a small mistake where you wanted to post this then, I guess somewhere in your own guild/server thread? As the general forum section isn't being used for information regarding ones own private server.

Unless you're posting this with the intention for us to give feedback on the server rules?
