This is how you would take advantage of the new customization system without wiping or being stuck on new toons.

Note that this can only be done by server admins with DB access.

Create new character with desired appearance
Log into game once
Log out
Shutdown server
Open HeidiSQL
Navigate to Character table, Data tab
Find your new character row
Copy the appearance field FROM the NEW character
Apply to the appearance field of the OLD character
Verify that the fields match (it doesn't always paste right)
Post changes to DB
Restart server
Log in with Old Character in New character's body.

Those aren't directories. They are tables in a database.

FYI, You need DB access folks!


I roll my own private server on my own hardware and this have full access. If your hosting provider does not allow you management access to your own database, this method will not work for you.

You'll have to use your magical GM powers in game and set each skill individually on the new toon. Time consuming, and hard to verify. Personally, I'd pick a provider that just lets me access my own DB.

And how would one go about when using MariaDB on a hosted platform?

Once the game is shutdown, your access to the MariaDB is down too.
