Once we have that info I'm sure we can get you atleast up and running with a fresh install of Server 2008. As for the LIF server install, I'd have to look into that.
Well, its a Dell. I don't have all the specs for it atm, but after i learn/figure out how to use the server OS to host a LiF server, I'll be tearing it apart to take out/add some hardware so it will be a true server computer. (more hard drives, more ram, take out a CD-ROM, prep last CD rom for removal after OS re install - and any software i want installed, CPU upgrade if possible, bigger fans, better heat sink, etc, etc, etc) and I'll list them here for future reference. I know i didn't offer much info with this post, sorry.
Also, I was wondering... I've set a static IP, port forwarded, installed SteamCMD, downloaded the LiF server files, etc. set everything up like I would on a normal PC (like Windows 7 Ultimate) to host a server. Is that all you do on a Server OS? pretty much like you would on a regular OS? through my google searches I seen that a lot talked about making a VPN to do it. And should I be using Web Server, or one of the other server options? Sorry, I'm rambling lol - after I set up the LiF server and got everything ready, when I went to test it, I received and error code - Unable to start correctly (0xc0150002) .
I've set up servers on normal OS's quite a few times, and have never had a problem. I used a HOW TO guide that really helped me a lot -
