Hey guys!

We always love seeing the results of your hard work - including those of you who partake in the type of work that includes an axe and an enemy’s body.

Sparks, splinters and blood droplets: the recipe that inspires the heart of a warrior! And now we’re expanding that list with three new damage stages for shields, which allows you to better evaluate how fast your opponent will die by your hands!





You can see in this screenshot the difference between the new, moderately damaged and severely damaged shields.

To accompany this new improvement, we’ve also reworked some of our shields and even added some new ones!

We also know how much you all want to hear about the MMO - totally understandable! At present, we’re continuing to work very hard on the Guilds/Claims. The mechanics are very complex so we really want them to be of a very high quality for you guys. We’re also currently working on fixing some bugs that affect transition between servers. We’re so excited to progress to the next wave and are so grateful for your patience, support and feedback!

Wow, loving the new shields and adding even more types. It looks really good! I'm wondering if there's any plans to include the *stun* mechanic that blocking with weapons has on shields or if this dev blog means that sounds will be added to shields?

Currently, blocking with a weapon temporarily stuns your opponent whereas someone attacking a shieldbearer can constantly rain down blows upon the hapless defender. Will this system be changed in any way?

Hallegra said it best, the lack of a stun with shield block means a hailstorm of attacks our way and because any shield large enough to actually block a hit takes too long to raise fully for the block, you can't really counter attack. Most of the guys I play with don't use the shield for this reason. Is it possible you could implement a way to truly block and attack at the same time, or at least add a stun to the shield block? It is very unusual that parry with weapons is a better method of defense than an actual shield. Thanks.

Still hoping for this.

Shield bash shouldn't have such a powerful effect and be so hard to hit with. It's the total opposite of how one would actually bash with a shield in real life.

Regular shield bash should be easier to hit with and do minor blunt damage (4-5) and only inflict a stun similar to when somebody hits a parry.

It's a huge block of wood, it's pretty easy to hit someone with it, but it won't push someone over with a small nudge, that requires alot of momentum and doesn't have much to do with the shield really.

Perhaps there could be an alternate hard-to-pull-off charge knockdown ability, but it's not important to me.
