Starter town

Post by Jonlindemann » 18 Jan 2019, 07:55

I would like to put a starter area in my claim so players, new and old, can utilize. Is there a way to allow these players to use the starter town on the claim while denying access to other areas in the claim? If so, how do I go about doing it?

Not really, the simple answer is 1 claim = 1 set of rules.

If you want to help new players but not let them take all your things I suggest making buildings off of a deed. Anyone can access those at anytime, then store your valuables on a deed nearby.

There are a few ways to do it on a deed but you will always need to edit who can do what - random people can't just walk up and use it then. For that the easiest way is to use feudal tools and edit what each player and/or guild can do on your deed. That requires a little bit of work at first to setup but it's a nice system.

Still, if I can take coal out of a barrel to cook with or meat out of a chest, I can take your gold out of your warehouse. Changing the default 'red' server to a 'green' server will allow personal claims I believe, which would let you make certain tiles (and things on them) off-limits.

But that's basically the same as just making stuff off-deed for them to use, and a deed nearby to keep your stuff safe.
